The Simple Truth
Who is Jesus Christ
This is my second hub and it is my first preaching the simplicity of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The purpose of these particular hubs will be to edify the body of believers, and if possible reach any who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord, who are looking for the truth.
The gospel I preach is the everlasting gospel. From the first words in Genesis to the last in Revelation the Bible has a center piece. That center piece is Jesus Christ, and the cross of Calvary were Christ was crucified.
I was "born again" in early 1970 and it is as real to me today as it was that night. It has been quite an adventure these many years. I have seen a lot and grown a lot. There have been whole lot of bumps in the road. I've seen betrayals and hardships, but I've also seen men and women sacrifice their all for the cause of the gospel. Through it all I can tell you that the Lord has never left me or forsaken me. He is a wonderful Savior. He has been my father, my brother, and my friend when all my friends were gone. He has been my rock and my high tower, and his Word has never failed me. I would not trade a day with him, for a thousand years without him.
There was a sign in a church I saw one time and it echoed the words that I heard from an old saint I once knew. On the plague it had this simple phrase "Jesus Never Fails". That simple phrase has been a cornerstone in my life, that I have found to be true.
I guess that begs the question then to some; "Who is this man Christ Jesus?".
Oh, what volumes could be written! Jesus Christ is Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph and Mary, or so it was supposed. A Jewish man of no notable background who has had more effect on the history of man than any other man who lived.
Jesus Christ is the Messiah! The Messiah is the one man promised to man by God from the days of Adam. God promised a Savior who would save us from our sins. Jesus Christ is that savior. He fulfilled hundreds of distinct prophesies, so there would be no doubt exactly who he is. He was promised to be a Light to lighten the gentiles and the glory of his people Israel. To me he is simply, Lord.
The gospel is so simple a child can understand it.
God is holy and without sin.
Without holiness no man shall see the Lord.
All men have sinned, therefore we are alienated from God.
Jesus Christ came as a type of second Adam, hence the term "born again". Jesus Christ was the Messiah who was promised. He was without sin.
He died on the cross in our place, as a sacrifice for our sins.
Because He was without sin, his death can atone for us.
The Almighty Father, who is just and holy, did as the prophecy said he would do. He could not allow his Holy One to see corruption. He rose Jesus Christ from the dead, by the power of the Holy Ghost. (The same Holy Ghost that he willingly gives us).
Now if anyone desires to be saved they must confess the Jesus Christ as Lord and believe in their heart that God has risen him from the dead and they shall be saved.
How much simpler could a merciful God make it for a lost and dying world? Yet it is this very simplicity that men stumble at.
If you don't know him, will you not accept his mercy? Ask Jesus Christ into your heart today. Confess him as your Lord and He will save you.
