The Slave and His Master, part 4
The Fear of God
Johan was safely inside of the villa. A few of the woman in the household had been shown medicine by Aurel who intuitively understood medicine by the Hand of Almighty God on her. Aurela revered the most High God. She knew Him to be the one true God. The men were asked to be on their way and would indeed be fetched if needed. The men left her domain in obedience; quietly and quickly.
Macarius wanted to be alone and told his men, 'now go to eat and rest and have others tend to the horses.' The cool breeze of the evening air was a welcome feeling on his sore muscles.He could not help but notice the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of stars in the sky tonight. He never recalled seeing the sky this lit up by Gods stars. Each fiber inside of him felt the peace of God.
Macarius loved this boy as a son. His attachment had grown to one such as this. He knew the compassion in his heart was from God. God is love and created each one of us special in His eyes. Marcarius knelt down on bended knee and thanked and worshiped God Almighty. He knew without a shred of doubt God was the only reason that the rocky and narrow path was made straight and clear. If they had taken the normal route it would have added hours onto the trip. Timeus took the risk as he was led so by the Spirit of God upon him and Macarius was proud of the young man and Vitus as well. His skills on the narrow incline with the horses were mastered like none other that he had seen. He took so much for granted and prayed forgiveness.
Timeus looked back before he approached his quarters and could not help but return to the Master. 'Sir are you well?' Can I help you master?' Macarius replied, ' No Timeus, I am on knee to thank God for the safety of our journey. You did a diligent and most hard work to clear the peak for the horses. I thank-you for your service.' Timeus felt himself blush. 'Oh Master I am most honored to serve you.' Master was humbled. He spoke softly to Timeus, ' I have made many mistakes in my life. Today I realized that our life is but a very short time and one day we will stand before God and be accountable for our deeds, while we lived. My God has placed much on my heart. Timeus you are no longer my slave or servant, you are my son. You and all that are in the family will be called my sons and daughters. Without your service and honor to me nothing could be accomplished. I see Almighty God placed you on my path for a season. We will have no other Gods before us Timeus. If one worships another God, he will leave this home here and be made free to go and worship his idol god.'
Tears were streaming down the masters face.Timeus could not could not help but to kneel to God in gratitude. 'My master,' without you, I would not have my life. I would be in chains and have brutal treatment.' The master spoke softly, ' Timeus the Lord God had me to choose you. He is the one that has saved your life. Praise to God Timeus and not to me. It is not not wealth, not power, nor by my might I stand. Nothing will stand without the hand of Almighty God on it. He is our Master, our King, the Creator. He is our firm foundation.' 2 timothy 2:19
Marcarius stayed on his knees in prayer until they weakened. He did not recall literally falling into a fetal portion and into slumber, on the front plaza. Timeus took a new hide and covered his master then sat near to him leaning against the stoned wall. He laid his head in his strong cupped hands, on his knees and wept in prayer. He ask God to save this boy, Johan. He explained to God his master would be heart broken if Johan died. Vitus could not bare to see his master in such pain as this.
