The Soft Battle to Be Present
Let the past be what it is, the past.
The past is most certainly gone, while the future has yet to be born. The Tao exists in the present, always. That is all it knows. When we continue to give into the incessant recurrent mental clutter of the past, we are sifting through what does not exist.
We obviously know we are not living in the past, yet we continue to nurture and pacify it in hopes that it will calm and subside. It is not a living breathing energy. It has already come and gone; it doesn’t exist any longer it has “passed.“
What is this obsession with “what was”? Could it be that we think we can change a particular moment or relationship in time by reliving it over and over? Could it be that we have yet to forgive others? Or perhaps ourselves?
You cannot recreate what has been.
"A man with outward courage dares to die; a man with inner courage dares to live."
-Lao Tzu, The Tao Te Ching
When you know and love the core of who you are, you are then able to see and love the core in others.
Tao is the Way, and The Way Is God's Way. Let Go and Trust.
The Way‑The Tao‑is Forgiving. For it always reminds us to let go of what was and flow along the river and trust its Wisdom. It will softly guide each of us to our purpose. We mustn’t clench to the rocks of the past and cease to float along its soft waters. God is the river. We must embrace All forms of Forgiveness. If we intend to flow and grow along the Way, God’s Way, we too need to encompass Unconditional Forgiveness. Without Resentments, Without Regrets.
Practice appreciating the humanness in yourself and then practice seeing and recognizing it in others. Practice seeing yourself in everyone around you. Practice loving yourself. When you know and love the core of who you are, you are then able to see and love the core in others. Because what lives inside you, lives in them. The spark of divinity.
We all come from and go back to the same source. The Way runs all around you and through you. It exists whether you choose to recognize it or not. It is the intangible life force that quietly pulls us along God's river. Accept its guidance, accept the way. Let go of the stones of the past that only serve to weigh you down and keep you from living now. Wake each day, reminding yourself that you will be a Presence in the Present. Tell yourself that all that matters at this moment is NOW.
Remind yourself that ALL IS FORGIVEN. That you Wholeheartedly Forgive anyone who has done you wrong. Remind yourself that God has Forgiven You and that that is your permission to Forgive yourself. Start Forgiving Now, so that you can Grow, Change and Love.
True forgiveness is having the ability to forget
I Forgive You.
Those are very small words that hold a lot of weight. In this human life of ours, they can be some of the most difficult words to utter in any language (next to “I’m sorry”). Lighten your load; it’s time to start forgiving.
Regret and resentment solidly stick to the ego. Letting go of all the things you believe and have been taught that you are, you open yourself up to becoming who you are meant to be.
To walk God's way, we need to strive to be like God. What does that mean? I wholeheartedly believe that God forgives immediately. That he understands how perfectly imperfect, each one of us is. He made us this way for a reason. We become stronger when we learn how to pull ourselves out from the thick marsh of human nature. He understands our struggles, our mistakes & our true intentions. We cannot grow and evolve if we do not let go of resentments and regrets. People make some terrible mistakes. No one is immune to that experience. God has forgiven all of us already. It is time for us to start forgiving ourselves & each other. Each day he gives us, is a brand new opportunity to be the person we wish we could be.
We’re all stumbling through this life. Not one of us is perfected yet. Grace yourself and others with God’s boundless compassion. The more we practice instantly forgiving, the more it becomes a part of who we are. When you find yourself in an unforgiving judgment of others, remember: "He whoever is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone."
A big production is not needed. All you need to do is truly and wholeheartedly forgive within your heart and mind. Feel forgiveness in your core and send your love out to those people as well as yourself.
Remember this; true forgiveness is having the ability to forget. Otherwise, when one speaks of forgiveness yet holds a deep awareness or grudge within them, this is not true forgiveness. The action of not forgetting serves only to continue pain for both parties; particularly the person who is unable to forgive.
People are only human. We are going to fault against one another. It simply is the nature of individuals. True forgiveness comes from a deep sense of compassion. If we all begin to see ourselves in others, we will start to have more compassion and understanding for our fellow human beings; particularly when they stumble and make mistakes.

Daily Meditation - Forgive Yourself (cc license)
“Simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world.”
― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
