The True Sheep
The True Sheep
>
“The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follows him because they know his voice. “

John 10 : 2 – 4

One of the strongest evidence that a certain person has become a true Christian is his ability to discern God’s voice. He has that unique discerning power to identify among the choices offered to him, the one that is coming from God. He has the ability to discern false teachings or false doctrines, false prophets or false apostles, false disciples or false servants and even false brothers or Christians.
>
Jesus knows his sheep personally. Jesus has a personal attachment to each of his children. His voice is transparent to them. He is constantly speaking to them. He is continually leading them. A true Christian hears God’s voice speak to his/her heart. He/She is constantly hearing the still small voice of the Holy Spirit constantly testifying to him about the truth of Jesus teachings. That’s why a true Christian will never turn awsy from Christ because he has the inner witness of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to the true Christian as a deposit guaranteeing what are the things to come. A true sheep will never be lost.
>
Jesus is constantly leading his sheep out of danger. I mean danger out of heresies and false teaching that destroy one’s soul. I mean danger from Satan’s snares, wiles and schemes.. The threat to a christian’s soul is very real. Satan is always working out schemes on destroying the shepherd’s flock of sheep.
>
There are many ways in which a Christian will be led away from the Good Shepherd. Satan is constantly devicing ways and shemes to steal away a Christian from God’s hands. One way is making a Christian fall prey in the charms of wordly pleasures and possessions. Satan is constantly devicing ways to make the world more attractive to a Christian..
>
A Christian should be on the constant guard of his/her heart. Our heart desires could leads us astray from the flock of the shepherd. But the still small voice of the Holy Spirit will constantly speak to us warning about the dangers of the snares of the world. A true Christian will heed His warning and will be delivered from the claws of Satan.
>
A false chritsian will not heed this warning and will fall as prey on Satan’s schemes and devices. He failed to heed the warning of the still small voice of God because he cannot identify it, he cannot hear God’s voice, because he is not a true sheep.
>
One reason why one has become so much dull to hear the “voice of God” is because one has lost his/her discernment due to too much compromises made with the world. One has become so convenient with the world. That’s why he lost all his discernment. Convenience and complacency can dull one’s discernment. When we are starting to be convenient with this world and with sin, we have to cry out to God for deliverance.

Will the Good Shepherd l really allow one of his sheep to be lost ? I believe the Good Shepherd will never allow one of his sheep to be lost. I believe God’s sovereignty will never allow a true Christian to be lost..Our salvation is secure in God’s hands. Though he may be lead astray for a while a true Christian will always find his way back to his Father’s arms, who is his one true home.
