The Ways of God
The Ways of God
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth , so are my ways higher than your waysand my thoughts than your thoughts. “
Isaiah 55:8-9
Are there times in your life that you question the sovereignty of God ?Or you question the will of God in your life?
There are many occurrences in the world today that challenges the sovereignty of God.One of this is the tremendous rise in violence in different parts of the globe. This continuous eruption of violence have claimed hundred of lives already if not thousands. Violence in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and some African nations have claimed hundreds of lives already. In addition to this is the unprecedented occurrences of natural calamities such as massive flooding, volcanic eruptions, destructive earthquakes and many other catastrophic natural disasters. One may ask if God is still in control of the world?
God remained sovereign all over the world and He is in control of everything. He still keeps the world in His perfect wisdom amidst the destruction caused by humans to nature. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts not our thoughts. We should always keep this in mind. The ways of the Heaven remained much much higher than our ways.We shouldhumbly submit to this truth. Because of God’s sovereignty all over the world, there is a great reason to remain confident in this life.If God is not in control of everything, we could have been destroyed long ago and there would be chaos everywhere.
Even in our very own life, many times we question the will of God in our lives regarding our career, marriage, lovelife and family life. We should never question the will of God in our lives for the Lord knows the best for us more than we know the best for us.The Lord knows us more than we know our own selves. He knows our capabilities, talents, strengths, weaknesses and limitations. We should learn to trust His perfect wisdom and submit completely to His dealings to our lives. As long as our heart is right and we are walking in His ways, He will lead us to His perfect will. There are many singles who are questioning why God let them remain single. Maybe if God allowed them to marry they could have been divorced by now.
There are many former leaders who joined cultic groups because they question certain biblical doctrines in the Bible because it is not logical for them. When we interpret the Bible we must place the Bible above our heads not below our heads. We must always honor the supremacy of the Word of God in interpreting Biblical doctrines.
In the earlier years of my life, there are many questions arise in my mind regarding God’s will for my career. After I graduated BS Computer Science from college I was aiming for a career in systems development field. I carefully laid out a career path for myself. I included in this path a training in one the country’s most prestigious training center for IT professionals.I built castles made of sand. Before I take the first step of the career path ladder I laid out for me, God stepped into my life and destroyed my castles made of sand. In other words, God did not allow me to take the first of the career path I laid out for myself. God took away all my selfish ambitions.
That happened twenty years ago. I realized that if God did not step in to interfere in my career path I could still be the old carnal person full of pride and selfish ambitions. Though I lost my dream career, I found a very intimate relationship with my God, which I could not exchange for anything this world could offer. I realized if God allowed me to have the career path, I will be preoccupied with my career. I will have no time to seek further the Kingdom of God and missed His best. I missed my dream career but isjust alright for I found the unsearchable riches of the Kingdom of God. And this is the best thing in life.
So when God step in to interfere in the affairs of your life, stop questioning, stop worrying, for God is leading you to the best place could ever be right in the center of His perfect will.
