The Wounded Healer, EFT and Musings
EFT-Try It On Everything!"
I have been working with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to address an emotional issue I developed without my being aware of it consciously, after my nephew passed away. EFT involves tapping the acupuncture meridian points while bringing up memories and releasing them, and this rebalances our energy system and thus our overall health.
The results even if critics says its a placebo effect are in the miracles category, folks with diabetes get healed, war veterans with PTSD symptoms can feel free of torment which not even psychotherapy could alliviate.
My EFT counselor, Jodi Mcdonald who was one of the participants in the EFT movie "Try It On Everything", was healed of fibromyalgia after having it for 15 years, and released a writer's block that lasted over 30 years, and enabled her to write and publish not only one but three books in two months! If that's a placebo effect then I want it.
I realize I suppressed my emotions to be able to better help my sister and to be "together," well no more. I have cried like a baby, raged, protested, said a few choice words and then I have surrendered to that part of myself, that understands the spirit lives on forever.
Working with EFT, I am coming to the realization that while there are many healing modalities to assist us all, the most important is having the ability to see with clarity that we are so much more than what our five senses tells us, and to trust in the perfection of the Divine/Source/Life/God, whatever we wish to call it.
We are literally creators of our reality. What we harbor within shows up in our reality, the finances we experience, the health, the relationships all are flavored with the energy inside our minds. It is for this reason, modalities such as energy work or body work often create miracles in the quality of the life of the recipients

I had been wondering if there was a writer's community that discusses only spiritual and motivational topics, and I found a social network called Gaia, which so far seems like a great place for those of us...
The video I am about to share is not only for those who are in the healing field, its for everyone, as we ALL have the opportunity to be healers at one point or another. It can be giving a shoulder for someone to cry on, a kind word, a word of encouragement, the financial help at the nick of time, writing the timely email or article, or just being there while your friend, significant other or stranger unburdens.
The message of the video reminds us, that when life give us rites of passage, loss, illness, even spiritual turmoil, it teaches us empathy and compassion, and we become healers who come form the heart and not just the mind. This is the essence of what a "wounded healer" means.
All healing, for self and for the world starts from the heart as the heart center is what connects us all.
May the path of wholeness be there for each and everyone of us, so we do not only tolerate life, but embrace it fully!
