The helpmeet: How to know your purpose as a woman

In the beginning God created every thing on earth and heaven. After he had created He thought of creating a man who would take care of the things He had made. So He made man called Adam which means man He commanded Adam to rule over every thing and not to eat the fruit of one tree. But Adam was alone so God decided to make a woman who He had called a helper for Him who He made by removing the rib of Adam. When Adam saw her he said she was born of his born and fresh of his fresh. (Genesis 2)

Now this summary of the passage shows us how Eve the woman was created and why. Eve was created from Adam's rib, and He created her in His own image. What is the image of God, is it his face or body appearance? No the image of God is the Spirit and the behavior part in Him and us the fact that the woman was made in His image just us Adam it shows that a woman is just important as man. But this does mean that she is important than God nor man, or say she is equal to them ,this also doesn't mean she is less than man.We would say birds of the same feathers flock together because of this similarity of the Spirit man and God can have communion.

The other thing is the purpose of a woman, God had said i will make a helper for him, now the word helper simply means a person who helps someone else, remember Adam was given the purpose of ruling over what God had made on earth (Garden) so as God was creating Eve he had in mind that she will help Adam to rule on earth, mind you this does not mean a woman is under a man nor above him, neither is a man. The purpose of a woman was to help Adam, naming those animals, keeping the garden clean. A woman is not meant to take over the position of the head of the man the mistakes will be made, we see this by how turned out with Eve and the fruit of the garden.

Today we would say a woman is a helper of her husband, she's meant to help in taking care of their home,raising the children and sharing the word of God, to her family and others. A woman is not supposed to be bullied or tortured by man but she is to be love, cared for and respected. So does she needs to do the same to man. But this does not mean that those who are not married are not helpers, we are helpers in the kingdom of God, we can help God in helping the needy, orphans and help in growing the kingdom of God hence our purpose is being served.
