The patient, the doctor and the stones.
Why blame him?
A man has a little burning when he goes pee. He goes to see a doctor. After the examination the doctor asks the man if he drinks coffee.
‘Yes’ replies the man.
‘Well, you have little kidney stones” says the doctor ‘You have to stop drinking coffee and start drinking green tea’.
‘Up yours, you don’t tell me what to do’ roars the man as he storms out of the doctors office.
A week later the man returns to the doctor complaining that now the pain is like burning fire. Again the doctor tells him to stop drinking coffee and start drinking green tea. Again the man tells the doctor to shove it and storms out of the office.
The next week stones break and the man is rushed to the hospital. The doctor is called in.
As the man lay dying in agony he screams at the doctor ‘This is your fault. You wouldn’t help me’ and then dies.
Whose fault was it the man suffered and ultimately died?
So too it is with God and us. When we have problems in our life and ask God for help but don’t like His answer we tell Him to shove it and refuse to obey. As time goes by the problem deteriorates until ultimately ends in disaster.
Are you having problems in your marriage, at work or school, can’t keep friends, are in debt or a multitude of other problems but refuse to listen to Gods advice? Then why blame Him as the problem gets worse and worse?
Not my will, but Thy will be done should be front and center in every moment of the day. Joseph- Anthony: Green
