The story of Kaley

Updated on March 3, 2017

“People can change”, this is something I have heard many people say, I have said the same thing many times myself.
I have given people many chances, not just once, or twice, or three times, but many times. I don’t know how many, it depends on the person and the situation.

This brings me to the storey of Kaley.

Kaley came to the Lord about twenty years ago,. She learned the word of God quickly. But you see, Kaley was never happy sitting in church and being a humble servant of God. She loved and sought after the spotlight. She not only loved attention, she hungered after it and thrived on it. She loved what she had seen on tv, those glamorous prosperity preachers were exactly what she wanted to be.

Kaley quickly found a church where she pushed her way into leadership positions, and very quickly into the position of associate Pastor. But that wasn’t enough for her. She managed to manipulate people within the Church to side with her and go against the Senior Pastor. She twisted truth, did things to make the Pastor look bad until he quit and she could step into the Senior Pastor Position.

Well, once there, she took control. She had control of the Church finances, the congregation and all the teaching. She was in her glory.

Kaley spoke often about tithing. I fully agree with tithing, but what I don’t agree with is guilting people to give, nor do I agree with prosperity gospel, this is telling people to give money, a lot of money because they will receive ten times or more back. Telling them to give and if they don’t, they are not faithful or don’t trust God etc. It is all guilt based manipulation, and she was good at it.

Kaley also taught that people living together in sexual relationships outside of marriage was ok in her church, she said that God told her it was ok. She also spoke about drinking, that drinking alcohol and getting drunk was ok.

Kaley would tell people whatever they wanted to hear, if they gave money. But if the money stopped…oh boy, look out, the wrath of Kaley was horrifying.

Kaley would take the church money as if it were her own personal money and go on elaborate spending sprees or trips and then the following Sunday yell at the congregation that the church can’t pay its bills because people are not tithing enough. Then she would usually threaten to close the church if they don’t start giving more money, then she would cry and guilt people into giving more. And it worked.

She would also have her husband go up on stage with her. He would give a ‘prophetic word’ of some sort, whatever suited that situation to get people to feel sorry for her and give more money, money they usually could not afford to give.

Kaley was controlled by Jezebel. Once she could not get anymore from the congregation, usually once they caught on to her schemes, she was run out of town. Was this the end of her? Not by any means. She moved from community to community and would begin doing the same thing wherever she went. She would last about two years until she would get run out of that town. So, she moved farther away and now she somehow got into another church. Again, as an associate Pastor. Has Kaley Jezebel finaly learned from her past? Does the Senior Pastor know what she is about? Nope. She is still lying, manipulating etc. A little less so, and more subtle. But still up to her old tricks.

Now this brings me to the power and control she has over people. You see, Kaley may be on the other side of the country. But because of social media she still has a stronghold over certain people that she had control over from before. Even now, this Jezebel can manipulate and control people over a great distance.

The Jezebel spirit does not recognize distance or boundaries. This vile spirit is all about manipulating and controlling people with the result being destruction. However, just like Jezebel knows no boundaries, nether does God. God is everywhere, and in Him you can find help. Help to overcome this disgusting spirit and be freed from it yourself. Remember from where comes your help.

Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Kaley, like Jezebel has destroyed marriages, friendships, and lives in general and she will continue to do so unless she comes to Jesus, repents and surrenders her life to Him wholeheartedly. She has hope and can change. Everyone can turn from their wicked ways.

2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Kaley and her life is unfortunately not unique. We see people like her in ministry in many places. There are these so-called TV evangelists who are nothing but wolves in sheeps clothing. They preach a gospel that is not truth. They will lie and manipulate by twisting the Word of God to get a result they desire; and that result is control over the congregation in order to fill their own pockets.

However, it is not just with TV ‘evangelists’ like you read in this story. Jezebel can and is in many churches in many communities all around the world.

How can you protect yourself from her? Pray daily for wisdom, discernment and understanding. Pray that you can see the truth. Also, read and learn the Word of God for yourself.

It is also of utmost importance to pray for the Pastor, the leaders and congregation. However, there are times that it is best to brush the dust off your feet and move on. If the Church you are in is not preaching truth, refuses to obey the word of God, then get out. God can and will lead you in the direction you are to go.

I will leave you with is this, “Can people change?”, the answer is, “Yes”, they can change if they truly want to. The choice is up to them. What and who is their God? Is it the one true God, our father and creator of all? Or is it everything but God? Such as money, control or something else?

Matthew 10:16 King James Version (KJV)
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
