Maharshi Vedvyaas was the Nineteenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and was the creator of four Vedas and eighteen Puranas

Maharshi Vedvyaas was the Nineteenth incarnation of Vishnu. His father was Maharshi Prashar and mother was Satyavati who was also called Matsyagandha. Maharshi Vedvyaas went to Jungle for Tapsya. He was born from Satyavati before her marriage.

After that she was got married with Shantnu the father of Bhisham and she had also two sons Chitrangad and Vichitrviray from Shantnu. Bhisham was the step son of Satyavati.

He took pledge at the marriage of his father not to marry. So he didn't get marry. He kidnapped three sisters Amba, Ambika and Ambalika from Svyamvar to marry with Chitrangad and Vichaarviray.

But Amba told that she wanted to get marry with Shalvnaresh. But Shalvnaresh didn't accept her, so she went for Tapsya.

Ambika and Ambalika were got married with Chitrangad and Vichitrviray. But both the brothers had no issue. So mother Satyavati worried about it .

She requested Bhishma for sharing the bed. But he did not agree as he pledged not to marry. Then she requested to Maharshi Vedvyaas for this work. Maharshi Vedvyaas had to accept her requeest.

Ambika got frightened so had a weak son named Pandu. Ambalika ashamed and she closed her eyes and she bore a blind child named Dhritarashtr.

But mother Satyavati didn't satisfied and said to try again. Now both the queens sent their maid servant. She went with great confidence. She bore a strong child named Vidur.

Maharshi Vedvyaas had his own son Shukdev from his wife Aruni.

Maharshi Vedvyaas divided the Vedas in four parts and Mahabharata is the fifth part of Vedas. He selected the place where the puranas were dictated and written.

Village Mana is away from Badrinath at the distance of three kilometers in Chamoli District Utranchal. This is the place where Vias pothi is situated. Vias pothi is the place that was selected by Maharshi Vedvyaas to dictate and writing the epic Mahabharata and eighteen Puranas.

Maharshi called Ganeshji or we may say make Avahan for writing Puranas. Because Ganeshji was not physically presented there. He came for calling. Ganeshji was ready to write on this condition that he would not stop while dictating. Maharshi was ready to dictate and Ganeshji was ready to write. In this way Puranas were dictated by Maharshi and written by Ganeshji. This place is made like the pothis that were laying in a layer as it is shown in the picture.

Mana village is the last village of India on the border of Tibbat.

The Story of Mana village is that Manibhadar was a business man and some decoits murdered him and cut his neck. But after cutting neck there was a voice of reciting Om Nmeh Shivai. Shivji pleased at him and add a face of pig on his neck and since then the name of that place was called Mana.

It'll said that shivji blessed this place and announced this place Curseless. The persons who visit here they were free from sins. It is the blessings from Shivji for those who come here they would become rich. One Thursday we go and pray for money the other Thursday the prayer will be accepted and the sources of money are begun to create. Here is only one shop like super store on Indian Tibbatan border where the visitors take tea and other eatable things.
