And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:31)There can never be a "bad" day.

My father is one of the wisest men I know. I can always count on him to help me see things from a broader perspective. I remember a sermon he once preached. In this sermon, he told a story. In the story, he encountered a young man that asked him how his day was. My father replied, "Another day, another blessing, it's a wonderful day! very good!" My father then proceeded to ask him how his day was, the young man replied, "This is really a bad day for me, really, it's just awful". My father then seized the opportunity to teach the young man a very important lesson. A lesson that would come to benefit us all.

He asked the young man if he believed in God. The young man replied, "Yes." My father said to the young man, "Well, you do know the lord made this day, and everything the lord made was good, don't you?" The young man replied, "Yes." (Genesis 1:31) My father explained to the young man that there can never be a "bad" day. The lord created the day, therefore it is good. He then went on to explain that our days are shaped by what we call "experiences and situations." These experiences and situations can make a day seem, "bad". The day itself, will always be good. In light of this new revelation, I began to smile. I immediately thought of all the scriptures that supported what my father was saying, but there was one scripture in particular that stayed on my mind; This is the day the lord hath made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24) In light of this new information, I began to let go of anything that made me believe I was having a "bad" day. I felt so much joy. I knew now, that there could never ever be a "bad" day.

May God add a blessing to all whom read these words.
