Throughout Life's Uncertainties

Throughout Life’s Uncertainties

“Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust in the Lord. “

Psalm 32 : v. 10

Life is full of uncertainties.

Anything can happen to a certain person at anytime. Tragedy may befall a person any moment. Just take for an illustration the September 11, 2001 that befell World Trade Center. Did the people who died there ever think that it would be their last day of work ?

That their lives would be required of them that fateful morning.

Or remember the 2004 8.0 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia that claimed almost 200,000 lives. Was there anyone among those who perished would ever think that this day was their last day on earth. That it would be their last tropical vacation.

In September 2007 a plane crash happened in Thailand and claimed almost 100 lives.Did they ever think that it would be their last flight. Death can struck anytime to a person. No one could ever say that he is too young to die, for death is no respecter of age, race, social status. It can happen anytime to a young person, or to a powerful and influential individual. Nobody really has power over death, even he is the wealthiest person in the world.

Who has POWER over DEATH ?

Jesus says in Revelation 1 : 17 – 18,

“Don’t be afraid ! I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One who died Look I am alive forever and ever and hold the keys of death and the grave.”

JesusChrist is sovereign over death. He is the supreme authority in life. He has the power to extend a person’s life or to end it. Those who rest their confidence upon the Lord, who take their refuge in Him are truly blessed. For the unfailing love of the Lord embraces them.

Throughout the uncertainties of life’s circumstances, we have to seek refuge in the Lord. The Lord is the greatest fortress. As written in a song of a great man of God Martin Luther,

“A mighty fortress is our GOD. A bulwark never failing”

      Very good insights Cristina327,

You are so right, tomorrow is not promised to us. We should prepare for eternity with more diligence than we prepare for tomorrow.

Very thoughtful hub. Reminds me of ...

Mat 6:33-34 (NIRV Translation) "But put God's kingdom first. Do what he wants you to do. Then all of those things will also be given to you. "So don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
