Time and Dreams

Updated on December 13, 2012

What is it that makes time so interesting?

Time. Everyone is part of it. So many small variations of meaning that make up this 4 letter word.

What is really time? Is it the numbers on the clock? The one moment you remember ("there was this one time...") or is it something else?

How was time created? Will it ever end? Is time infinite or will be stop? Does time have only one direction?

All these questions have been attempted by scientists by the answers, the real and right answer to these questions may never be found.

How many times have you wished "If I could only turn back time..." or "If I could change that one thing..." then your life would have been totally different from what it is now.

Such small things like losing the train, falling down the stairs, blocked in an elevator, etc... have wasted some of your time and changed your life partially. Maybe if you hadn't lost the bus, your boss would have not been so angry that morning, which might have then caused other things: this is the well-known CHAIN REACTION. Every action is responsible for the next one.

Maybe its all an illusion. Do you know that whenever you remember an event, you always change some details of it and in the end, the memory of that event changes completely from what actually had happened. The mind does strange things.

What is our life?

This is a story about making choices. I realized that this is about the power we have to make our own destiny. Life is a continuity of decisions and all those small decisions together are as important as the big ones we somehow consciously make.

(this quote has been adapted to the context of the hub)

Choices really make up our life. Every single thing, from when we are small children to big and old adults.

Points to think about...

"What was there before the big bang? Well, you see, there was no before because before the big bang, time did not exist. Time is a result of the expansion of the universe itself. But what will happen when the universe has finished expanding? "

This is a quote taken from the movie "Mr Nobody" (2009)

I think dreams make up an essential part of our life. They help us cope with things, they develop our imagination.

We cannot control them, they just rise in our minds and make us happy or sad/angry. Its one of the man things we have no control upon.

Sometime we think we can decide our dreams but its a mind game, actually cannot.

We surely can decide what to dream when our eyes are open, imagine something we desire and crave. Imagine certain types of situations we would deal with and how we act, we dream about what we would say when something happens... we dream about lots os things, and most of the time we wish we had the opportunity of making some dreams come true.

This links back to time. If we had the possibility of changing some parts of our lives by making them become a dream, then our experience would change and the time spent doing something else would be wasted.

Dreams and Time and very deep concepts, it is very difficult to explain them, but they are useful meanings to us.

Dreams may have a lot of importance as most of the time you may think you have dreamt something really weird and strange when it might have a profound meaning. Just a little research sometimes help to understand things better.

What we would want to be

I find that most of the time I find myself dreaming with my eyes open about another me. A person who I would love to be and become but unfortunately it will never happen, or very unlikely. If i dreamt to be skinny, famous and rich, then I would be just like another person somewhere in the world and that would not be ME. Each one of us is unique and whether we try to imitate our idols (their actions, way of dressing, styles, personality) it is always going to be another person and not YOU.

Imitating someone else might b interesting to be how far you can push yourself but after awhile you may realize that it is not worth it. There will be someone in the world that will appreciate who YOU are and not who you want to be.

SO BE YOURSELF ALL THE TIME.... and follow the dreams that make you unique and develop your personality, not the ones that change it.

Worth Watching

Thank you very much @LongTimeMother, I really appreciate your comment!

It has been some time since I wrote this post, and I can now say I am more satisfied with my life than I was before. The teenage years are quite hard, especially if you feel alone and you don't have the right type of friends around to help you deal with things. I know many teenagers (and older people too) struggle to be surrounded by the right kinds of people but that is just life and it takes a bit of time to find the right ones. :)

Hi randomizing. How lovely to see a young person reflecting on these issues. Voted up +.

I hope you spend less time dreaming about another you, and focus instead on what you can do to be a happier you! I have no doubt you are just perfect. :)
