To Be a Mom is the Greatest Gift

Updated on August 18, 2011

The Family

The greatest blessing that I have been given in life would have to be that God gave me seven wonderful children. I enjoyed every minute of their growing up more than anything else that the world has to offer. I have a nice house on a few acres in Northern California, a nice car and enough money, but my children have always been a part of me that cannot be measured on paper, but only with the heart. When they were young, as you can imagine, my plate was full, and there was never a dull minute. There was baseball games, seven with chicken pox and the flu, plays to help with, volunteering at church and school, but I would not have traded it for anything else in the whole world. I have loved being a mom and have been more fulfilled than any riches would have to offer or that could have tried to draw me away. To be a mom is like having all the gold in the world, your children revolve around you and you are the center of everyone's attention and they are the same to you. Now that they are all grown, I have my wonderful grandchildren and my little grandson is with me quite a bit and it reminds me of how it was with a little one at your heals where ever you go. To some it seems a burden, this parent thing, but to me it was the greatest position I could ever hold.

You are so right the position as a mother is the greatest that God has given you. The mother love for her children's. I have a son and he is 27 years old and still in college. And you know what I still support him even though he has a part time job, but you know what he making something out of his self. He has one more year and he will be coming out with a Bachelor Degree. You are oh so right support them. Very good Hub.

Being a mom was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever experienced. The only thing that can top it is being a grandmother! Nice Hub! Welcome to Hubpages!

Voted up and interesting. It is a pleasure to be a mother. I am a mother of a nine year old son. Everyday at one point I feel what a tasking job is motherhood. Sometimes due to his misconduct I simply get furious and hurl some bad words upon him. Later when anger cools down or I see him sleeping only one thought engrosses me that I've nothing precious than him. The utmost gift. Anger, frustration, depression, mood swings or happiness, these are all human attributes. It is natural to have them as mothers are also humans but motherhood and motherly attributes cannot be surpassed or suppressed by any other human trait for long.
