TOP FIVE INTERCESSORY SAINTS FOR PRAYERS REGARDING FAMILY DYSFUNCTION

Intercessory Saints for Prayers

Oh my goodness. We all have some kind of dysfunction in our immediate families or dysfunction in our extended families at some point in time and/or generationally, we have dysfunction in our family histories - Every last one of us. What we experience can really be a mess sometimes. It is best for us to not get too saddened and caught up in despair. This is what we are taught as believers.

It can be really difficult sometimes to not get overwhelmed and overcome with sorrow when things seem to be going really wrong for our families. Keeping the faith will help to ground us. Here is a list of top five intercessory saints that are regarded for issues of family dysfunction.

5.

St. Rita

St. Rita entered an arranged marriage with an oppressively abusive husband at age twelve and was widowed by age twenty-five, when her husband who had many enemies was murdered. Her sons wanted to avenge their father’s murder and afraid of their violent inclinations, she prayed that her sons would not become murderers themselves. She was worried about the state of their souls. After losing her entire immediate family (husband and two sons), St. Rita entered a monastery.

4.

St. Frances DeSales

In a committed relationship, withholding intimacy, affection and emotional support as a way of wielding power in the relationship is just plain wrong. If you are experiencing having a partner that withholds intimacy, St. Frances DeSales is commonly known as an intercessory saint for this. He will champion this cause for you and help you to give it to God.

Mother of St. Augustine, St. Monica is known for having a very mournful and sorrowful life where she frequently wept over both her wayward husband and her wayward son. She clearly suffered over both her husband’s ways and her son’s ways. St. Monica is known for having shed a lot of tears and having to endure so much emotional pain before both her husband and her son finally found conversion and learned how to act right!
