USING BALANCE TO REPAIR CHAOS
With wisdom there also has to be understanding.
Everyone understands the meaning of the word balance in the physical sense. As a noun it is of course the even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady. Synonyms are, stability, and equilibrium. It is also a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions. Like fairness, justice, impartiality, and equal opportunity just to name some synonyms.
As a verb it is to keep something steady or stabilized. Another verbal use of the word balance would be to offset or compare the value of one thing to another.
So how can balanced be used to repair chaos?
The definition of chaos simply put is complete disorder and confusion. Pandemonium, havoc, turmoil, disruption, and upheavals are just a few examples of chaos.
Many of us experience or have experienced some of these conditions. Sometimes we are aware but most of the time we are unaware of the presence of one or more of these disruptions when they are taking place in our lives.
It should be easier to spot the physical effects of chaos than psychological effects. Physical ones have symptoms that are recognizable, such as an unbalanced diet which can cause chaos in the digestive system. Or an unbalanced lifestyle (all work and no play). These are familiar examples of the symptoms of an unbalanced life.
Then there are some psychological symptoms imbalances can create. When a child is not taught obedience there is the possibility that child will not develop the structure needed to succeed in life and this could cause a wide range of psychological conflicts. This is why it is necessary for children to know right from wrong. Teaching someone what they have done is wrong should always be balanced with teaching the right way it should be done.
Chaos exist in this world mainly due to the presence of evil. The sad truth is that evil is the dominate principle occupying our world and has done so since it was first introduced in the Garden of Eden. This would indicate to me that the state of humanity is out of balance and it seems to be true in every level of our society.
There is imbalance in our governing systems all over the world. Which is the reason we have conflicts. Political leaders seek control of our lively hoods and compete with each other for control. They see this as order looking from the top but looking from the bottom it is seen as mayhem. There is no equality and chaos prevails.
Take a look at our social structure, would it be fair to say there is imbalance there? There is a reason our streets are not safe to walk on and this is due to social imbalance. Those who have thrive while those who have not struggle to survive. The reasons for this dilemma may have merit but the condition none the less exists, there are more who have not than those who have, creating the atmosphere of chaos.
There is an imbalance in our education system which has been well documented for decades, as well as our health care system, and of course our justice system. The imbalances in these areas can cause humanity to act in desperate ways, another setting for chaos.
Balance, in every aspect of life is essential for humanity as a whole. We are all familiar with the Chinese expression “Yen” and “Yang”. It is balancing one with the other. Finding one’s center, promoting peace and tranquility. The cure of chaos.
The most important area for balance should be in our Spiritual Life, or Kingdom Worshiping, because in the Kingdom evil does not exist, so chaos cannot exist. So, what would that involve?
How about Praise along with Worship, or Prayer along with Meditation. Receiving and giving. This is the kind of balance our Creator expects from us. We were not supposed to choose between good or evil.
Our Creator created this universe to develop and maintain balance, and it is done so with perfect harmony. Stars are born and die creating the condition for new ones to be born and the process repeats itself and has done so from the beginning. Here on this planet ecological balance was in perfect harmony until humans became the dominant species and now due to our waste (smog from burning fossil fuels as the main culprit), the planets recycling process which keeps the planet cleansed is imbalanced, (causing greenhouse gases). These adds to some of our most chaotic weather conditions.
Our Creator also designed humans to live in harmony with the Earth with perfect balance in our lives. But because evil came into existent, He had to create a means for those who choose to do so to live the balanced life He originally designed us for, thus preparing us for living in His Kingdom.
Human existence on our planet was not designed to be chaotic. We were to be our “brother’s keeper” showing love and compassion for one another without social barriers. We were also given dominion over this planet so we are responsible for the ecological imbalances that now exist.
I encourage everyone to find balance in their lives. It will give a sense of peace and satisfaction, especially if it is done so according to the will of God. Our Creator took measures in His own hands in the past in an effort to cleanse this planet, restoring balance, and at some point He will do so again. If we choose to balance our lives according to His Word, then when the final judgement day comes we will be “uploaded” to the Kingdom where all is balanced. And according to His Word that Kingdom will be right here on Earth, which will be made perfect again.
