Understand the Book of Joel

Updated on February 18, 2016

Introduction about the book of Joel

There is a meaning of natural disaster because the question into our mind is "What's behind a devastating locust plague?"

It was a single bomb that devastates the city and the world is ushered into the nuclear age. It was a split atom that has power and force such as we have ever seen.

The examples of these are volcanoes, earthquakes tidal waves hurricanes and unstoppable force. These can be only avoided them and then pick up the pieces.

It is about the day that the prophet Joel speaks and it is the theme of his book. On this day God will judge all unrighteousness and disobedience in which all accounts will be settled and the crooked made straight.

It begins by describing a terrible plague of locusts that covers the land and devours the crops. The devastation wrought by these creatures is although a foretaste of the coming judgment of God, the "day of the Lord". It urges the people to turn their sin and turn back to God . In Joel 2:32, the verse says anyone who calls the name of the Lord will be saved.

As the readers and viewers read about the Book of Joel , they will catch their vision of the power and might of God and God's ultimate judgment of sin. Chosse to follow, obey and worship God alone as your sovereign Lord.
