Untaught Scripture Truths for Disciples of Christ, Part 5

This is the Fifth part of this series.

There are many scripture truths that you will not hear taught in most places. I am talking about things you must understand to be a real disciple of Jesus Christ. Which is saying that if you cannot understand the Lord Jesus Christ, who He really is, what His role is, what Authority He actually has, and what He really requires of His people, if you do not correctly and fully understand the scriptures about what He has done away with, the things in this world that He has changed and what He brought that was all NEW and different. You cannot be a real disciple of Christ. That is why scripture requires those that would be His disciples to be filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit, to become of one Spirit with God and have access to ALL truth from the only place (according to scripture) that All Truth can be found, the very Spirit of God Himself. This series will teach and explain some of these important scriptures.

Please Read this Before we Begin. Here we teach scriptural truths that are not taught most places. These are essential truths that you cannot be a real disciple of Christ without properly understanding.

Because of this fact you must follow the scripture “do not be deceived my beloved brethren” and see that YOU are not deceived. In order to not be deceived you must not believe what I or any other man wants to teach you unless and until it has been confirmed in scripture and by the Holy Spirit of God to you Personally as Truth. That is your responsibility no matter who is teaching you.

Now we must continue to look to Jesus and the scriptures to continue our study. Do we have to only eat certain food? Are there any other special requirements that we need to know?? ?? ?? Are there any special benefits included? Lets see what Jesus and scripture say about these things.

Are there food that disciples of Christ are forbidden to eat?

Of course this study would be incomplete without covering this subject because there are so many different groups with so many different teachings on it. But as with all scripture there is only ONE CORRECT answer. Notice I did not say there could not be more than one meaning as some scripture do have, but that there is only one Correct answer, it may have several parts.

Remember that we found that in this new contract with Jesus Christ, the Lord of this age, ALL things are new and different, nothing was carried forward from the previous age. This means that the food restrictions given to the Israelites in their covenant with God has ended as it was temporary and only applied to them and this new covenant is to whosoever will.

We know what the food requirements were in the past ages. In the beginning we were given only seed and fruit with seed as food.

Gen 1:29-31

²⁹And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. ³⁰Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so.

Then after the flood in the new age they were given additional foods. In fact they were given every living thing to be for food to them. The only restriction they had was they were not to eat meat with the blood still in it.

Gen 9:1-4

9 So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.^*2And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. ³Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. ⁴But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

So we need to see what the new covenant with Jesus Christ as Lord says in the matter of food for us to eat. The scripture below tells us that the same food as was given to Noah is today to be our food as long as this earth remains. This is one of those scriptures that I mentioned that has several meanings in it. It is specific to the Spiritual food that Jesus gives that is now available to all. But it also confirms the last Word from God concerning what food we are free to eat as the law was temporary and only applied to Israel. So for all others it was never changed.

Every living thing on the earth is to be food for the disciples of Christ. Nothing is withheld from us.

Acts 10:9-16

⁹The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. ¹⁰Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance ¹¹and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. ¹²In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. ¹³And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat."

¹⁴But Peter said, "Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean."

¹⁵And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common." ¹⁶This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.

One last thing for this part 5 of the series.

There is one extremely important scripture that is to be a part of the life of EVERY REAL DISCIPLE OF CHRIST ACCORDING TO THE WORDS OF THE MAN JESUS CHRIST.

The following scripture is the Word of God through the Lord of this age to ALL Real disciples that belong to Him.

Notice it does not say, these signs may follow, it says “these signs WILL follow those who believe” fully” in Jesus Christ as the Lord of this age and Follow through with doing ALL He requires of them.

Any man that wants to teach you that does NOT have these signs following him is a thief and a liar and is not of God. Do not follow him, he WILL lead you to the same place he is going, the lake of fire and destruction at the seat of judgment where the wrath of God is poured out on the unbelievers.

First, He confirms other scriptures for you to GO into ALL the world and take Jesus to all you meet. All are invited, few will pay the cost.

Second, He who becomes a disciple of Christ (not of man) who believes and is baptized will be saved. Not is saved as man teach. Salvation is not assured unless you endure to the end and it is only fulfilled at the final Judgment if your name is still in the Lamb's book of life.

Third, we need to remember that we learned earlier being baptized has 2 parts, in water and in the Holy Spirit. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit of God to be of One Spirit With All of the brethren.

Fourth, be sure you understand that if you do not believe at this point you have consigned yourself to destruction in the lake of fire. Unless you repent before the end.

Fifth, If you have done all Jesus requires of you, not what man say, but all that Jesus requires of His disciples, then these signs WILL follow you as proof that you are a believer in Christ. A believer believes and does all Christ says he can when directed by the Spirit.

Sixth, As all disciples of Christ must be filled with the very Spirit of God and are of one Spirit with both God and Jesus. Since God is within you, you have all His power that He has allotted to you, all you have to do is believe and use it as the Spirit leads. It is not for a carnival show as many try to use it but it is to use as you follow the Spirit and it guides you.

Seventh, This is the first sign that must and will follow you If you are a real disciple of Christ and will NOT if your are not. By using His name YOU WILL CAST OUT DEMONS in people desiring to be cleansed.

Eighth, YOU WILL speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gives you utterance. Again these are not side show acts but are “as the Spirit leads” for the work of the ministry of disciples of Christ. You may pray in tongues or actually speak out in tongues, just follow the Spirit as it leads.

Ninth, this one is almost always misunderstood. This does not mean as so many teach, to pick up snakes, this means if you should happen to pick one up by mistake as Paul did, it will not hurt you. Even if it bites you as it did him.

Tenth, In some countries today and especially In bible days a good way to get rid of an enemy was to slip poison into their food or drink. That of course would most likely not be found. I have a friend in Kenya that was poisoned by a witch doctor because he was delivering his people from witchcraft. The witch doctor bragged that he had given him a large dose of poison but became very afraid of him when it did not affect him.

Eleventh, YOU will lay hands on the sick and they WILL recover. Not they may but “THEY WILL RECOVER”, They will get well. Again this is not to be used as circus act as it usually is. This again, means when the Spirit leads you to pray for someone just do it and they will be healed.

Mark 16:15-18

15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. ¹⁶He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. ¹⁷And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; ¹⁸they^*will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

At this point it seems this is the end of this series. If the Spirit gives me more I will add it. If you fully understand these things you are equipped to be a real disciple of the Man Jesus Christ the Lord of this age and are on your way into the eternal kingdom of God.

I will answer any questions you may have and supply the supporting scripture but please do the research yourself first, because what you find has more importance to you that what another man says. If you follow the guidelines laid out here and do all things the Holy Spirit speaks and do nothing that it does not confirm, you are on your way to being a real disciple of Christ. I can get you started on the right path but ONLY Jesus and His holy Spirit (which is the Spirit of God), can make you a disciple and write your name in His book of life.
