War Room Prayer

Updated on January 24, 2016

War Room Trailer Worth a Watch

Prayer is Real and very Important

I saw a movie the other day called War Room and I started thinking so much about it. Its a great watch for any christian and it really explains how important prayer is.

The bible talks a lot about prayer. Maybe not in the sense you think but it still does. For example, Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. ~ 1 Chronicles 16:11. This is talking about prayer. To make it simple. Prayer is a way of talking to God, its just the word saying youre having a conversation with him, simple, right? Yes it is. Its actually that simple but do we actually give time to talk to God?

In my life I always come up with excuses like, I have to do this and this and this. I dont have time. Our world today is making it really hard for us to have a 5 minute conversation with God because we are so busy. But you know what there is a simple way to fix that too. Think about that drive to work or the train ride or the walk to the store what do you usually do then? Nothing, maybe listen to music or talk to your spouse. Thats the perfect time to talk to him. Just say "hello how are you, this is whats going on with my life right now."

Ive had a hard time to start praying myself but Ive actually adapted the way the War Room movie shows. Im writing it down and putting it up on the wall. It reminds me everyday of my prayers and also that God is there when I need him.

But now youre probably saying. "Why should I pray, even if I have time. It doesnt work." Oh trust me, it works. Look at the movie for example it shows a great example of it. But then you might say, "its a movie, its not real". Well that might be true but things like that does happen. I can give you a couple examples from my own life and also when you google it online there are thousands more who can testify that prayer works.

Here are my testimonies.

  1. When I was 17 I really wanted a summer job but I couldnt get one. I prayed to God to show me what to do that summer. One day my youth leaders ask me. Hey there“s this group thats gonna go out and do missionary work for a whole summer. Do you wanna go? Its all paid for and fixed so all you have to do is show up. (The trip costed about 700 bucks but it was all paid for, for me) God had my summer set.

  2. On this missionary trip I hurt my foot really bad. I couldnt walk on it at all. One evening we prayed for it and all the pain was gone. I first started walking and then I ran. Another miracle.

  3. Last year I was in big money trouble. I had 4 months unpaid rent and a couple other bills unpaid. I had no clue what to do. I was about to go away on a trip but I almost cancelled because I couldnt afford it. I cried out to God. Next day I had enough money on my bank to pay all my rent and the rest of my bills. God saw me and he helped. This was not my family, this was not people, this was God.

Thats just a couple of things from my life. Prayer is important but also very real. God is real and he helps us when we ask. He wont do anything if you dont ask for it. But he wants us to ask and give time. If you give him time he will give you time. :)

Also I wanna finish this text with a couple of bible verses on prayer.

  • The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. ~ Psalm 145:18
  • The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. ~ Proverbs 15:29
  • If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! ~ Matthew 7:11
  • Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. ~ Colossians 4:2
  • Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. ~ Matthew 7:7-8
  • And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 21:22
