We Were Born From Greatness and Righteousness
In Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV). “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;
and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.”
We can read for ourselves and conclude that we were born from greatness and righteousness. And that the very hand of God crafted us into life. Even though God is speaking to the prophet Jeremiah and is speaking the prophet title over him. One should know that from this same verse, we are called into action to serve Him. Our gifts, talents and abilities all come from God from before we were conceived. Because to know someone in a biblical sense, means to be intimate on a spiritual level. It’s not always the physical sense, as most others believe. God knew Jeremiah before he was conceived. Much like He would know all of us before we were conceived.
So, each of us spent the very first part of our existence in God’s mind, heart, and soul. Created in His image, it is His deep love for us that brought each of us to life.
Throughout our lives we are faced with many choices to make and paths to follow. It is these choices and paths that could either separate us from God or bring us closer to Him. All we can do is look within ourselves and judge ourselves regarding the choices we have made and the path that we have chosen. Selfish choices will lead us away from God and down the wide path that leads to destruction. Choices made for the love of others and keeping God first will bring us closer to Him, under His shadow and on the narrow path to eternal life. Each decision we make is completely up to us. God has given us freedom of choice.
Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV): “13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
But, for every wrong choice that we make, God has given us a way to seek forgiveness through His son Jesus Christ. It is Jesus Christ who was offered as a sacrifice for our sins and transgressions. It is through Jesus that we can obtain the free gift of salvation. Salvation is free because Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for it. But, death could not hold Him back, for He arose on the third day.
John 3:16 (KJV): “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Each day throughout our lives we are faced with many choices and decisions to make. Now that you know that you were born from greatness and righteousness, what choice will you make? You have the God given freedom to make you decision for yourself, your eternity depends on it. You came from the greatness and righteousness of God. Will you return to Him?
