What are you going to get
We’ll get it in spades.
“God will see that each person sooner or later receives what he deserves – if not here, then hereafter.” - JI Packer
Think of a person that has shafted you recently. Come on, we have all experienced someone who has spread nasty rumours about us. How about someone who takes credit for work you did? You been ripped off in a deal lately? Wouldn’t you like to get revenge, to make them pay?
Don’t waste your valuable time thinking up and trying to execute justice. Revenge is a stupid never ending circle of I get you, you get me.
It is better to forgive them and ask God to correct them and forgive them. Notice, it is not a blank cheque. Nowhere do you find in the Bible where God says He forgives. First you must repent in order to receive the gift of forgiveness. God promises He will punish the wrongdoer. If not in this life, then in the next.
So when someone has offended you, take it to God and leave justice to the one who is the supreme judge, Jesus Christ. Then, get on with living a Holy life. Your rewards will be better than theirs.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
The trial of course, is to truly forgive and to trust Jehovah for justice. Now if they repent, we should rejoice. After all, the same grace God gives us when we repent, shouldn’t we show it to others as well?
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of
Payer: Please Jehovah Ropheka (God our healer) heal my tortured heart of the ache of _______ (share your painful experience with God) that was caused by _______ (mention the name of those responsible ). Please bring Your divine power to my heart to forgive those responsible and move their hearts to repentance. If they stubbornly, arrogantly refuse then help me to accept that and move on in my life. I ask in the name of Him who said:” Father forgive them.” while suffering intense agony on the cross, Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
