When, Just Around the Corner, Life Knocks You Down!

Updated on January 30, 2013

The rocks cause you to go over or around. Each way is a little different journey.

Your pathway is planned and the steps given are marked ahead of time. Sometimes it is necessary to stop and rest before the next step.

You climb only one step at a time. Boulders are sometimes resting places.

Early muted dawn will open the new day, and under God's gracious watchcare once again.

Perhaps your new day begins with rosy beauty. God has painted your morning especially for a bright new day.

Don't step too close to the edge - angels can fly, you can't.
Don't step too close to the edge - angels can fly, you can't.

A sort of poem-prayer-plea, and a little bit of stubborn too

Oh, Great Jehovah!

Be Thou my Guide as on this rugged trail I go.

Grant me Thy strength to take that turn you point...even in my woe.

Give me Thy breath as on the steep'ning path I tread

and grant my sight to be on You, not on those rocks ahead!

Lest I fall, hear Thou my whimpering call and touch my roiling mind with rest,

grant strength to take this path You show, Thou knowing best...

Help me to comprehend, as when reeling all alone, I am not:

You give The Holy One to be my own, that strengthening hand I sought.

Lead on, Thou purposed Guide, through every stumbling step.

You help me fend; my strength and guide as on this trail I go.

Thy morning light must soon be seen to glow...

Thick thickets then I pass and miss sharp thorns hid low--

Brief respite, on this cliff-edge as I climb toward springs

to quench my cracking thirst;  though questions cling.

As You assuage my cloying need, keep me sturdy on this way.

I plead for answers without sull; know this path was laid for good to me.

And though I know not reasons now, and falter, still I trust in Thee!

Companion Guide, You marked this way I follow!

Seeking what You give, I know I'll fully truly live!

Oh, God Jehovah, be my Guide! Thy steps shall lead and I shall stay beside!

Spiritual water is our spiritual thirst-quencher...even when it is only a small drink in the rocky canyon.

To all the earth, for every soul.
To all the earth, for every soul.
And rise as the eagle, look to the Son, who watches thee.
And rise as the eagle, look to the Son, who watches thee.

From The Holy Scriptures

Behold, Yahweh is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;

For El Yeshuati is my strength and song,

and God has become my salvation.

Therefore, I may joyously draw water

from the springs of salvation!

And in that day I will say,

'Give thanks to the Lord God, call on His name!'

Make known His deeds among the people;

Cause them to remember that His name is exalted.

Let this be known throughout the earth!

Isaiah 12: 1-4 and 6

On spiritual wings we rise above the storm. God gives the lift to our wings.
On spiritual wings we rise above the storm. God gives the lift to our wings.

Isaiah 40:31 from the HolyScriptures

"Those who hope in the Lord shall have their strength renewed as needed; they shall mount up with strong wings as eagles and fly very high above the problems; they shall run long and not be wearied; they shall continue to walk and not faint away nor lose their bearings."

And may God grant His blessing upon every soldier-hero, as we pray His covering upon them all, each and every one.

You liked my Haiku, but your poem I love even better. What a gift God has bestowed upon you that you can write so beautiful about Him. Your love for Him shines through so wonderfully through every line of this prose. Absolutely awesome!

Storytellersrus, thank you for your insightful comment. Those rocks are on Lynx Creek in AZ where there are many gold diggers. Guess that could mean those rough rocks do sometimes contain hidden blessings...as long as we follow the Guide?

Another great Hub. I believe that the purpose of difficult experiences are to increase our faith. I want to be more willing for difficult experiences.

I'm going to share something very personal with you. Yesterday upon coming off a time of blessing being with my son a mere few days after his mom's passing and seeing him be blessed and my daughter's birthday today and seeing her be blessed, what do I do? I go off and sin. It wasn't something that will take years to undo. I was broken immediately after. I was confessing and knew God heard. No this sin was something that said maybe I just am not grateful enough or maybe I need a few more lessons, a few more painful lessons. I needed this hub today, my friend. The word of God is healing and restorative. I love it because it shows God's eternal love and I love my friends that quote it because they do not know how God is going to use it to heal or restore or maybe even save a life. Keep writing and thank you for stooping down and picking me up. I love you for it. Bob.

I snuck in through the back door frogyfish when you were out kindly fixing the video for all the soldiers. I came back to watch it and I'm glad I did. It's a really good one and the soldiers will love it.

Sorry, hubbers, I can't get this Youtube video to play again. Didn't want to lose it all, so will keep trying. It had special thoughts for our soldiers in it. You can go to Youtube and search for choir rendition of Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah - for soldiers is stated on video info.

Very nice hub frogyfish. I very much enjoyed!
