Why I Choose to Become Muslim?

Updated on July 5, 2017

QUESTIONING MY FAITH

I seek protection to Allah from the temptation of Satan, the doom

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, and the most merciful

Hello, Friends. As promised, I should already published this material few weeks ago, but my muse going away and I’m staying alone by myself with blank mind because his disappeared. But he is back now and I’m saved, again :D. I’m so sorry for the delayed. So, let’s get started.

Few weeks ago, a Hubber, whom I respected for His fair and honest thought ask me this, “Did you found any moderate teaching in Islam?”I don’t answer him right the way at that time because I want to make sure that I have proper answer to explaining my idea about Islam. I hope finally, I’m able to make better explanation. But I want everyone understand this hub is come from my own founding, so the mistake inside is my flaws and mine only.

To answer the question above I should start from the core of my understanding about Islam. And because it will become long article, I will divide it into few hubs. as you might will be realize while reading this, I’m not putting too much history facts on this Hub and before you said that my work not based on good foundation of history, I need you to understand first; I’m not Historian. I think there are so many people who might be more eligible than me in that area, so I will stick in my usual way of writing. But I can guarantee you, I'm not speaking nonsense and the entire story about Muslim here based on history.

DO I LOSS MY MIND BY BECOMING MUSLIM?

If non believer look on Islam they surely will say:

Islam is too strict religion.

It put so many rules that limited human to live to their fullest.

It ritual seems like cult for others and Muslim attributes made the believer seems different and weird.

The believer of Islam being isolated by our own will and locked by too many non logic ideas about worshipping Allah.

Not to mention Muslim way to reach heaven by using Jihad and killed non believer without any regrets, and the way the Men treated Women is worst.

Say that I’m wrong, but I’m sure somepeople will surely agree with above sentences; these are how non believer seeing Islam, right? Definitely weird and wrong, and make you afraid to be around the believers.

Did you ever think, why in these so not comfortable religion, we are all staying still, and living a happy life, and our number keep growing bigger and bigger, and many of them who raised the numbers of believers are came from converters? Why we love to being locked away from good life and freedom while we can see so many great achievements being achieved by non believers in their freedom of life? Why the women like me stay in this religion where I’ll become an object of abuse by my dear future husband and allowing myself to be cheated by him inside polygamy? Did all of us loss our mind? Are we just a bunch of crazy masochism people who love to hurt ourselves? Are we really?

“If you want to look further beyond your jail of faith, you will find there is an entire world you have never see nor known out in the world, which provide you with everything that will satisfy your hunger of knowledge and life.”Many of my friends are telling me this. But, Dear friends are you sure?

Now, let me bring you to the journey inside my believing heart to see whether I’m real or I just crazy woman from nowhere.

Here the list of the next Hubs which related to this one:

  1. Why I become Muslim II: why I believe Allah
  2. Muhammad, Fake Prophet?
  3. Understanding Al Qur'an, History Of Preservation
  4. Understanding Al Qur'an II, Reading Qur'an, To Be finding The Truth Or To Be Lost Inside Your Own Mind

Very good hub, can't wait for the next one.

It's good to make people understand that Islam is not a strict and extreme religion. There is so much freedom, only if you understand it.

Sorry Freya! Forgive me, I made a mistake. I thought you converted to Islam too! You are so Blessed to have been born to Islam. My Sufi Master, says that everyone is born in Islam ( that is submitting to God's Will ), but then we are brought up according to the beliefs of the parents-unfortunately, if they are not following The islamic Ways they are not teaching us The Real Truth. Keep up your good work. Alhamdulillah!!!

Why should say sorry? It is ok. Yes, I'm blessed born as muslim, but for so long I'm blind and drawn myself into sin, which I should pay, since I'm a sinner. But converter, once he/she converting, all the sins he/she had already performed, all wash away and this person will be pure like baby just being born. it is your bless, and I will be happy if I get the same bless. My works is one of my way to ask forgiveness to Allah for all of my sins. I hope it will help me, insha Allah.

But please, if you need to sleep go on and sleep because this Hub will be right here still when you are wake. My English is not really good too at first and still not really good today, but keep writing Hubs improving it a lot. Your English is fine, Sis. Your way in explaining things is clear and to the point, easy to understand. I think by the time, your English will be great too, mostly when you live there, where almost everyone speak English.

By the way, even if my writing ability in English is ok, my speaking is awful. LOL.

no disrespect when i ask you this but do you ever have that feeling that you are following the WRONG path??... i would like to know this because a dear friend of mine she is also muslim but she does not want to be one any more she wants to be christian, she says Christianity looks to be the right religion for her but she fears what her parents may do to her if she spoke her mind. so i am asking you this so she doesn't feel like shes wrong because i am a christian and i would love for her to convert.

  • Freya Cesare profile image
    Author

Freya Cesare 6 years ago from Borneo Island, Indonesia

Maybe, welcome to my hub. ^^

You see, right or wrong is black and white. But no human will really knew for sure which one is right and which one is wrong until the day we meet God. It is matters of believe. We never meet God in person. But we can feel His presence through everything around us, his greatness, his love and his mercy, but we need to listen carefully and try at our best to be humble and always grateful to be able to see it. I knew, I am in the right path and I will never look to another way. I do learning about any other language, but none of it can satisfied me like Islam did.

About your friend, her parents will be very angry. She must accepting this one fact. If she decided to convert to Christianity, she have to accept the risk of losing her family, because in Islam, converting to another religion will make her no longer a member of her family.

  • profile image

    MaybE 6 years ago

thank you. you are very kind but i do not wish for my friend to loose her family. no offense but thats not right of course she has a family with me but if thats what it takes then i guess god has only the best plans for her... but if she is no longer a member of the family then does that mean she will have to live on her own because she is to young to live on her own... well maybe she should just wait until she is a little bit older until she converts

  • Freya Cesare profile image
    Author

Freya Cesare 6 years ago from Borneo Island, Indonesia

Yes, once she converted, she will lost her right as her parents children, including upon their heritage.

Maybe, let me explaining why this will make her family angry. In Islam, sin of children will become their parents and family burden too. If someone going astray, God will ask this person's parents and another family member, why this person can get astray. If the reason is because:

    1. This person's parents didn't taught a proper lesson about Islam to their children, it will become their sin.

    2. This person parents and family didn't try as best as they can to protect their family member from going astray, it will become their sin.

And all sin have to be paid.

Sometimes, wrong interpretation and fear of God punishment brought Muslim become violent when they found one of their family member going astray,I heard that several blind and stupid muslim willing to kill their own child than let them live and being astray. It is not right and not all Muslim doing this. Me, myself, have an aunty whose converted into Christianity because of marriage. We welcome her still inside our family. But your friend should be very careful.

I strongly suggest to wait until she can stand on her own feet, ready to take all the risk and totally mature enough to make the decision if she is not yet right now.

  • profile image

    MaybE  6 years ago

thank you so much for your response and i will be sure to tell her to wait just a little while longer because i would not want anything bad to happen to her. may i ask why in the muslim religion they kill their children for following their own paths?

  • profile image

    MaybE  6 years ago

please disregard the question i ask i was unaware that you already answered it in your response. sorry about that. well i guess thats probably the way they were brought up that if they went astray then they would probably meet the end of their lives and they dont know any other way to handle that situation for their own children.

  • Freya Cesare profile image
    Author

Freya Cesare 6 years ago from Borneo Island, Indonesia

Maybe, like I mentioned above I did heard people got killed because chose to no longer become Muslim. But it is wrong. Doing as best as they can to avoid their children to go astray have to be done by teaching their children the real Islam and the beauty inside it as best as they can since the children still at very young age. If their children went astray, this could be the sign that they not gave their children proper education in proper way about Islam and that is why this is the parent's fault; parent's sin.

Islam is lifetime job. Muslim have to always aware to keep the near future save. Inside Qur'an, written the rules about how to teach children. But in so many times parents didn't took much interest on learning it from Qur'an and go with their own style, not aware that they put terrible risks on their own future. And when finally the future come and their children going astray, they blaming the children or anyone who they thought had seduced their children, and as the result, they become violent. This is simply human fault, if they listen to God more and struggling real hard to follow God's words only, this kind of incident won't happened because God already warned them in so many times.

When my aunty chose to marry a Christian, all members of the family really angry. they argued and argued and argued. They never supported the wedding and exiled her from the family, but she still continued to do what she wish to do. The exile only last for several months, though and never once she got hit from family members. Even so, my father believe, he will able to answer God's question about this sister of him by saying that he and all family already did the best they can to help her understand the risk of being astray and already tried to give her solution so she can out from problem which caused her have to convert but in the end it is her right to decide. She is mature enough to decided the path of her life, and by that answer, he will be free from God's punishment.

My father is an example of Muslim whose translating Qur'an in it's peaceful way. But facts had showed that so many people got blinded by their own rage and used God's words to justified their acts (It is not just Muslim. This kind of people existed in every religion) And therefore, everyone should be always very careful in every step they take to walk on their path.

It is not religion, but it is human. As simple as this.

    Salam, Matthew James.

I was born Muslim, but living in republic Of Indonesia gave me a chance to know another religion too.And I learned a lot about another particular religion in my journey to seek my path. But no matter where I had look, my heart already choose to stick with Islam because I see what Islam gave which I couldn't able to found in another religion. Because of that, I believe, despite I was born Muslim, but I choose to be Muslim. I choose to walk in this path by my own and determined to do that until the end of time. This is my own choice. ^_^

Salam, sister!!!! =D I'm a 14 year old and I'm really impressed by your hub! Mashallah!!! And all those comments by a proud christian and everyone has a choice compelled me to sign up for hubpages just so that I can tell them to leave us to our own religion and let us be. They can think what they like, the truth will come out when the major signs of the Day of Judgement will begin to manifest themselves, and when they will see those extraordinary signs such as the rising of the sun from the west, then they will realise their mistakes, and will try to repent but the door of repentance shall be closed on them.I guess all we can do is pray to Allah to forgive them.

Again, a very good hub, sister!!!!!
