Why Such Distaste For Jesus These Days?

Updated on February 13, 2014

Honestly this frustrates me a lot these days because I have a strong love for God and Jesus. Why? Because His strength which I have received through prayer and sheer faith have strengthened me in every moment of hopelessness or depression.

I know the world is not happy to hear about Jesus, but hey, we still have freedom of speech in America. I find it frustrating how I experience on a daily basis the lack of enthusiasm.

I am living proof that faith heals. I have been through much in my lifetime and my faith has kept me alive and going strong. No other coping skill would have gotten me through. It's true.

I like to share this with others because for one, I feel it is my duty and for two I love to share things that help me as I know it will and can help others as well.

I mean I get tons of stuff that I feel is negative and distasteful thrown at me on a daily basis from the news, and facebook, and everywhere I go.

There is nothing wrong with being a Christian and believing in Jesus. Quite the contrary, because this is what inspires me to forgive, and to "turn the other cheek", and to heal from my past and brokenness which we all have to a degree.

Faith is not just for tough times either. It is a daily vitamin of support and encouragment to live to the highest moral integrity! To be "Jesus" to others, to follow His wonderful ways, you cannot go wrong.

No matter how difficult things get in the world, Jesus is always there to help us along...Prayer is a positive force for's a vocal or non vocal way to express positivity and hope and support and forgiveness.

Meditation and prayer lead to much peace, an inner peace, nothing nor anyone else can give. It is the substance of the soul and spirit reaching to higher places and realms to achieve what that which is beautiful, inner beauty...which is to bear the fruits of love which are listed as:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

New International Version (NIV)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Kill you for looking at them wrong? Like which ones? Sounds like a woman on a bad pms day. Lol. I may seem like I don't hit back, and I don't but it doesn't make me feel vulnerable..I feel protected by God and I do practice assertiveness!!! I will stand up for myself, but not in a violent way. Thanks for the comment and visit!!

There are other more intolerant faiths that kill you for looking at them wrong. The haters find someone to pick on who won't hit back. They always do.

Thank you BlossomSB, yes faith in Jesus IS everything. The world would be dark and dreary without. Most people do not know this because most are not really sincere Christians....God bless you too!

      Hi Jackie Lynnley,

Yes I see a lot of "spam" or junk online and on TV and on the radio,,,a lot of negativity thrown at us with violence, movies, and depressing news about killing and bad economy and then those ads about greed or lust etc etc and well for me even more in the mental health field where I spend time... Yes, there Christians who call themselves that but are not really into talking about Christ...Yes he it...Where do people turn to when they are unhappy or sick? Where else is there to turn but God? Missing out...yea you can feel the difference ... I can feel it when I don't focus on God I get down and out...then I apologize and get back into Him...Once you experience something GOOD,,,you miss it when it's not there...and so many who have never known God do not miss him but feel bitter and say "there IS no God" well they are wrong and there will be no salvation without Him true..Thank YOU! :)

I find the same online especially, it seems even people who call themselves Christian do not want to talk about Christ? This makes no sense but of course we know the devil loves it. Many will OK Jesus but not as a Savior or God. Well we know He is and they are the ones missing out. I cannot imagine my life without Him and there will be no life for anyone without him. Thanks for standing! up and sharing.
