Why giving female children a Christian values upbringing will help to increase the rate of abuse to women?

Updated on March 15, 2017

The bible teaches firstly, disregards to circumstances, even if her husband is abusive and slap her around, a woman must be submissive to him and restrained herself by acting in accordance to the law set down for her, by her husband, this also means, even if he is abusive to her child, she must stand by and do nothing. At elderly age, she must teaches these same value to the next generation. Secondly, it teaches a woman must get married, therefore, if she cannot find a nice guy to get married to, she must settle for an abusive husband who slap her around and she must be bound to her husband, till he die. Three, the wife is the husband's property, given to him, by god.

Ephesians 5:22-33 "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, …"

Peter 3:1-22 "Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, …"

Ephesians 5:23-24 "For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands."

Colossians 3:18 "Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord."

Titus 2:3-5 "Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled."

Bible passages that teaches if a woman can't find a nice husband, she must settle for a guy who slap her around and be bound to him till he dies include,

Corinthians 11:11 "Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman;"

Corinthians 7:39 "A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord."

Romans 7:2 "For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage."

Bible passages that teaches the wife is the husband's property is

Proverbs 19:14 "House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord."

According to the work of Dillar J & Pfau M and the work of Philip C McGraw, we can argue a person are more likely to be persuaded to a distorted view when they have limited or no understanding towards a situation, because they don't have the necessary fact to contradict what they are been persuaded to believe in. Children are extremely more vulnerable to be persuaded to distorted view, because they have no understanding towards anything. Thus, a child are more likely to be persuaded to the Christian value above, that helps to increase the chance for a woman to ended up in an abusive relationship. Thus, by giving young girls a Christian value upbringing would help to increase the rate of abuse to women, amount the next generation.

The result of these Christian value, mean Christian women are more likely to put up with abusive spouse, stay in abusive relationships and not report abuse. Statistic from US justice department found violence towards women significantly higher in Christian household in comparison to others. The rate of abuse towards women is Islamic household is also lower, in comparison to Christian household, because they allow divorce, after you think about it three times, thus allowing their women to leave abusive spouse.
