Question...Why Should GOD Forgive?

Updated on April 26, 2011

We Want To Believe

Questioning God is suppose to be a "No No" but, the question of, Why should God forgive?, is a human questioning human thought processes and human feelings. What goes on between an individual and God is sacred and really should be held as such. There is no certain way to tell if God has ever forgiven anyone for anything. This would be a matter of judgement and who are we, as humans, to judge anything?

The thing is, we as humans, have emotions that need to be fulfilled and I think this question truly touches on those needs. It seems that the God that Christians put their faith in is a forgiving God. Maybe this suits our human needs, to think that God would or would not forgive. I think the real point here is in our own ability to forgive.

Forgiveness Sets You Free

The truth is that we want to know if we should or should not forgive something or somebody. No you do not have to, but yes you can if you deem it something you can live with. I think living with it is the bottom line. When an issue is eating you up with thoughts and, you are hurt or angry or disgusted or some other emotion is boiling up inside you, you feel like you need to do something about it. No you do not have to do anything but, humans just have that inner drive going on. It just feels like there must be something they should or could do.

I say FORGIVE. It will do you a world of good. Forgiving lets the issue go and nine times out of ten there is really nothing you can do about what someone else has done anyway. It is not yours to deal with. It does not mean that you should always forget it. You might have been able to learn a valuable lesson from the situation that you are concerned with. The thing is if you let it go it will not hold you in a negative state of emotion. The negative state is a harmful place to be. Give your worry to God.

Do not worry what God does with it. That is God's concern. Concentrate your positive self on those things that you can do something about. You will feel better in the long run. This is faith and if you believe in God your faith will come easy. Practicing faith in God keeps us in a positive state of mind. This is a healthy place to stay.
