Would the evidence find you guilty or not in a court of law?

Updated on April 6, 2014

He came for sinners.

I need to start this writing by telling you it is primarily focused for the believer. Please do not go and run off if you do not believe Stay for a few minutes. There just may be something that helps you discern a Christian. Just maybe something will soften your heart or spark you to consider the love of Jesus and His love for you. I am not here to judge anyone. That is Gods territory. I am but a vessel for Him. I have great compassion for those that do not believe. Atheism my friend does not take away pain only hope. I can only begin to imagine how God must feel when so many turn from Him or spit on His name. We are created in His image and Jesus wept. He is God and perfect man in Jesus Christ. He displayed feelings of deep compassion for sinners. That is why He came into the world not to judge the world but to save the world from sin. One day we will pass on from planet earth or Jesus will return first before that time. Either way if you deny Jesus then you too will be denied eternal life in His Kingdom.(Matthew 10:33)

I am not here to argue or say I am better than any one. I am not. But for the grace of God go I. All Christians had to make a choice to come aboard for Jesus. Not many were riding the pink cloud when we called on His name to save us from the raging storm or the mire mud pit we were in. If you know anything about the Bible you know that Jesus choose sinners, the best of them to follow Him. Take Matthew the tax collector. Tax collectors were hated men. They cheated people out of lots of money. They were allowed to collect as much tax as they wanted over and above as long as Caesar got his fare. Take doubting Thomas as many miracles as He saw Jesus do he still doubted. Jesus loved him still. How about Peter who denied Jesus Christ three times when accused of knowing Him. How about King David who God so loved. David committed adultery and had a man killed. He was forgiven by Jesus but he did suffer grave consequences for his sin. Sin does that to us. Not that God can not turn all things for the good because He does so for those who believe on Him.( Romans 8:28) So I hope you get it. If you do not believe. Jesus does love sinners. (John 3:16) Take a couple of woman in the Bible. Jesus saved the prostitute so she was not stoned to death. He said, 'He who is without sin cast the first stone.' (John 8:7) He told the woman to go and sin no more. Oh the Pharisees hated Him for this. How about the Samaritan woman at the well who had five husband. Jesus knew and He did not condemn her. He told her to drink from His well and she would not thirst again for truth. He was the living water.(John 4:1-26) The Scribes and Pharisees were about the law. Jesus was about love, compassion, mercy, truth and grace.

Savior of the World

This is my son in whom I am well pleased
This is my son in whom I am well pleased | Source

The Light of the World.

Jesus could have called legions of angels to save Him from the cross. But He so loved the world He suffered a brutal death for us. He paid a hefty price for us to be made clean and spotless before God the Father. His blood shed for us paid our sin debt. He took all of the worlds iniquities and sickness upon Him self so we could live and not die. That is so huge. He was beaten and spit on and whipped and laughed at and cursed and stripped of his clothing. He was crowned with thorns. He did this all for mankind.

I find the older I get the more I want to know Jesus. The more I know Him the more I love Him. As each day flies by it is like I thirst for Jesus more. He is the well of fresh living water. There is none other that will give us the peace we all long for inside other than Christ. No other god will do. Not Mohammed, Dalai lama. Allah or Buddha. None of these men called gods went to the cross for us so we could live. None save us from our sin. None heal us from our disease. None of these gods rose from the dead and live again. They lay down in there extravagant graves their souls in their destined eternity.

How majestic and amazing is our Lord? His love so majestic that He extends new mercy and grace on the fallen world each day. If that were not true we would all be under. His love so large He does not want to loose one, no not one to eternal death. Eternal death means God will be out of the picture. You will not see sunlight or sunsets. There will be no rainbows. There will be no waterfalls. There will be no meals or water. There will be darkness and torment. God is the Light of the World. The choice to deny Him is of free will. You will get to live with your sin if you deny Jesus. You will have your mind and think of what you missed forever. It is no wonder Jesus weeps. He does not want this for any. He did create hell for Satan and his followers. It was not intended for mankind.

But we do need to make a choice once we are an accountable age. There is no excuse. God has made certain there is plenty of evidence of His existence. (Romans 1:20 ) Jesus knew there would be skeptics and men that hated Him..There is nothing new under the sun.(Eccl 1:9) There has always has been the skeptic, atheist, agnostic, false profit. But Jesus took on the devil for us and defeated him. He died for us and rose and lives. How glorious is that? He is no respecter of people. He did it for you and for me.

The Vote

If you were on trial for loving Jesus would there be enough evidence to convict you?

See results

Jury Vote

Now for my question to you guys. If you were in a court of law and the jury were told there had to be enough evidence given to prove that you were a Christian before they found you guilty how do you think they would find you? Would you be found guilty because there was much evidence you loved God? Or would there be so little or none for Christ that the case would be acquitted?

I have been out of town for a time to visit family. Purely a God given gift. and blessing. In the time away I really started to notice how many 'Christians' never show their colors to the world. I too had to look at myself in the mirror. Many say they believe yet they back off when it comes to sharing about Christ. Not only in the secular world but in the church. Many believers have remained quiet (me included) only to be sorry we did not speak up for Almighty God. One word could save a life. One hug and smile telling another Jesus loves them could soften a heart. Telling another you will pray for them could give someone the hope they long for. Sharing your testimony with another could be all they need to hear. Maybe no one ever shared Jesus with them. Maybe they never heard about the love of Jesus. Praising Jesus in the secular environment could plant a seed.

We believers need to be shouting who we are. Remember Paul's words. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.( Romans 1:16) We need to shout whom we belong to. We need to give the Glory to God for everything. We need to let our lights shine. The world out there is huge. There are many more secular than believers. Many claim to love the Lord but are sad or oppressed or down trodden. Hey I understand life is not easy. It is easy to be tempted to stay down. There are times we want to just hide under the covers and not face the day. But is that what God has for us. Not hardly. He has so much more for us. There is no limit to His wealth. In wealth I mean spiritual wealth. He wants us to pass the test so we can go to the next level. ( 1 Peter 1:7) If we can not be faithful in small things how can we be faithful in more.

Jesus must weep at the Christian who keeps mum so not to rock the boat or is lack for words. Praise God is enough, if you do not know what to say. We have a heavenly Father that loves us so much we cannot begin to fathom how wide and deep His love. We know by faith. Yet when push comes to shove it is like many shine Jesus on. I do not think on purpose. It could be lack of knowledge or wisdom. God will use you where you are at. Allow Him too. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.(Romans 10:17)

The Holy Spirit points us to Jesus. Jesus blesses us so much. Why is it Christians are shy about showing who they belong too? Children of God. I am not perfect in sharing the love of Christ. Far from it but I am so grateful for my salvation which I do not deserve. I can not help but let others know how majestic God is. How will they know if we keep our blessings and gifts to self?

Shine the Light.

It is the enemy of our souls who wants to keep us quiet. Are you a sunday Christian? No offense given? I am led by the Spirit of God. I have much work to do. God is not done with me yet. He will call me home one day or return first. We do not know when. When I stand before Him I so want to hear Jesus tell me you did well my daughter. You told others about me and you let the light shine through you. You were salt of the earth. Job well doneTime goes all so quickly. We do not know what tomorrow might bring. Rise up to the occasion Child of God. Do not be shy about the Savior of the World. Allow others to see the hope you have been given in Him. They will see something different about you. The light of Christ. They will know us by our fruits. Do not keep your faith only for the believer.. Stand on scripture. Jesus is our strength.(Phil 4:13)

Jesus loves you. I pray that for you each day the favor of God smiles on you. Jesus is so very intricate. He is in every detail of our life. He wants to be in our life. He only wants our love. He prepares the way. He goes before us to make things happen. He is worthy to be praised. Jesus is the good news not just good advice. The gospel is the good news that God loves us. All glory to God.

Faith Reaper Blessings sweet and precious daughter of the Kings. I am honored by your word of inspiration. I so appreciate your reply. In my humanity I was not real sure of this hub.( a fleshly thing, uk) I just knew to hit submit. Sister, dear one you do so shine for our Lord. I am thrilled to call you sister. I know that our Lord smiles favor on your perseverance, loyalty, and adoration in Him. Your compassion and love for the Lord jumps out on the pages.' We will know them by their fruits' and you are so right some believers we can spot in a heartbeat. The most important day in our life is the day of salvation, Amen. I love you girl and so grateful the Lord found for us to know one another. Hes an awesome God. My Love, Skye

I had a friend of mine tell me when we all stand before judgement we will all probably be embarrassed by what we could have done. That really stuck with me. The Holy Spirit has equipped us. I know we all fall short and I have missed opportunities. I pray for boldness for all those that know the truth to rise up to the occasion, me included sister. Hugs Galore. I pray favor abounds on you in all of your comings and goings. Keep going girl you will. I know it. Phil 4:13

A most beautiful write to glorify our sweet Lord, who paid the highest price for our sins indeed, and this could only be written by one who was found guilty of loving our sweet Jesus so very much!!! You are guilty most precious daughter of the King! Thank you for getting us Christians to think on this and truly look at ourselves and examine whether there is enough evidence to convict us of loving our sweet Jesus and not being ashamed to proclaim His glory to the world.

I am sorry I missed this powerful write here, and I had clicked on it but it was not there, then I saw your other wonderful hub and just thought you had swapped these out. It would be nice if they reposted that someone published a hub again! I am so thrilled you are back at HP writing up a storm for His glory!!!

I do hope the evidence is there in my case and that the fruit is there for all to see the love in my heart for Jesus. Sometimes, there are those who do not even have to say one word and I just know they know the Lord, for they are so joyful and singing while just walking along, and they have so much peace about them, that I know they belong to Him.

Time is short and we who do know Him and are in that beautiful and intimate relationship with Him should tell the world about His sweet and most powerful love, for I sure would hate for anyone to miss out on knowing of such divine love like no other and knowing Him in a personal relationship.

Thank you for shining your light for His glory.

Up and more, and sharing everywhere.

God bless you. In His Love Always,

      Faith Reaper

God bless you sky2day. Whether I or you believe we were led by God to do what we do or say what we say, or not, the truth is, God does use people to achieve his purposes, to enourage one another in Christ, to lead unbelievers to the truth, to convict sinners or to chastise believers (like a father he chastises those he loves). He used ordinary people to write and translate His Word, he used them to accomplish his plan of salvation and he will use them to bring about the end of sin and the creation of a new world. His ways are not mans ways and I am so glad for that. I know that you know we are not here on earth to please man but to please God when you say "Jesus loves you. All glory to God." You have described our walk with him, a walk you wear on your sleeve and a walk all unbelievers and believers alike need to start so they may walk into eternity with God. You've said it all, you've said it right and I pray what you have said is as much a blessing to others as it was for me to read. The question really is as you put it "Would the evidence find you guilty or not in a court of law?"

tsadjatko, My oh my. God is so amazing dear bro. Truly your reply to my works is a God send. I was praying last night because I was thinking not good enough. ( I am over myself now, it is not about me) My precious husband so reminded me in love. I had to chuckle. The flesh is selfish. God does the sending just fine. I was wondering about the poll as well?? . As of now I am not gong to wonder about the poll because Glory to God this is about Jesus our Lord and Savior. Yes maybe some do wonder and are nudged. I did notice a couple of people removed themselves from following me after I published this hub. No worries my Lord is all I need to please, Amen. I am so grateful to Him. He sent you here and spoke to me. Thank you so much for coming over and for such a reply. May Gods favor shine on you in all of your comings and goings. I go into the forums on occasion (Religious discussion) Truly I do not know why I go I just feel led. It is like cymbals clanging all over the place. Words twisted and turned. May God so help those that are lost dear friend before it is too late. I am so grateful I am a chosen vessel. I thank God for you today. Please know your comment did touch my heart. God is faithful and true. I just finished another hub. Odd I put two together so quickly. I had no intentions of writing a hub. God again is amazing love. I must come and see your pages very soon. I look forward to it. Bless your journey and do b in touch. Hugs galore, Skye

This writing obviously comes from the heart, as do all your writings I have seen. When you have truly embraced Jesus in your heart it can't help but come out. Your point about being ashamed of the gospel of Christ and what Jesus said, "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven." is a wake up bell for atheists and unbelievers who oddly enough aren't content with their own belief that God doesn't exist, they are compelled to "deny Him before men" with no regard for the curse they are putting upon themselves. You'd think that if they truly believed there is no God and they knew it they would simply ignore the delusional religious people and go about their business, after all if they are that delusional what would a sane person like an atheist want to do with them? The thing isn't that they don't believe in God, it's that they want YOU to not believe in God. Why is that? There is nothing to be gained by atheism as they believe when you die there is nothing, as if you never were, there is no hope. It's truly like misery (no hope) wants company. All this is evidence that there is something more at work here, namely that they are being used by Satan to lead people away from God. After all who is it that roams the earth like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour?

Well now that I got that off my chest, why is it that of the 7 commenters who have read your hubpage only three took the quiz? Could it be the 4 who abstained are a hung jury?

Love your writing, keep it coming.

I have not seen Son of God yet. I cant wait to see it. I have heard from producers some of the ordeals they went through in producing the film. The enemy tried to really mess with them. I have seen several interviews They are after Gods heart.. They spent years getting the correct Biblical context It has been on their hearts to produce for 14 years. I do pray a heavenly host comes to Jesus after seeing the movie. All Glory to God.

      Good Morning Sista,

I wasn't saying to necessarily move that line. I just meant that that line in your introduction should convict someone. Hope you don't think I was trying to correct your hub. I would never do that, but it is one powerful statement!

      Hi Skye,

Your introduction line should speak to someone - " Atheism my friend does not take away the pain, only the hope." That is one powerful statement, but not as powerful as the question you ask. That requires a lot of heart searching. I can only hope the evidence would add up. Keep on keeping on Sista - another great hub!
