Your Words are Powerful

Updated on February 14, 2015

I am having an absolutely glorious day today. How is your day going?

Now before you answer that take a few moments to think.

If we are having a challenging or bad day our response without thinking would usually be a negative one. What would you say if I told you that how you answer a question like that could determine how your day will be or continue? It is the absolute truth. We speak words and they manifest. Think about that?

Now since that’s on your mind. Oh and I know you are thinking about it.

Hmmm if I speak negative words and I know they will manifest then if I speak words of positivity then positive things will happen? Not so? Correct!!! Well how about giving that a try.

I have been reading on Facebook and other Networks people’s comments. Take some time out and actually read yours and your friends statuses that get put up and tell me how many are positive. Mondays you will always without a doubt see things like “I hate Monday” “Oh it’s a blue Monday” “why is the weekend over”. Since I have been born again I learnt to appreciate every single day given to me. I thank God every morning for the day. Mondays have become my favourite day. I see it as a brand new week to do more amazing things.

I see people complaining every day on these networks about their lives and without realizing it, they are actually writing their story. Those negative words will manifest and they ask, as they always do. Why is this happening to me? Well my answer to you is. You keep doing it to yourself.

If your heart is not right with God the words that come out your mouth will show that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matthew 12:34) If you walk in Love, and you are commanded by God to do so, what comes out of your mouth will be good, positive, uplifting, encouraging etc.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

Your words have life. They have the power to either make or break you.

I had to start off slowly when I was born again. I had to change my way of thinking and how I look at things. You have to look at the cup as half full and not half empty. I started with waking up, no matter what mood I was in I would say “Thank You God for waking me up this morning.” Wow when you say that you actually realize just how blessed you are. You have another day. Some don’t!

My day would start and I would have challenges and instead of getting all worked up I would work my hardest at trying to see the BLESSING in it. We do not always understand why things happen. We are always quick to comment or blame but never stop to think that we contributed to the situation. Ok so things don’t go your way. So what! Change what you are doing and try it again. But add some positivity to it. When we you something, do not automatically assume you will fail at it. Do not doom yourself before you even start. Why not just do it with Faith? We are all scared about doing things but if we voice that fear we actually give the devil room to move in and manifest failure in our lives.

Proverbs 21:23 “He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity“. One thing we always forget to do is think before we talk. Those who stop before opening their mouth, give themselves time to evaluate what they are going to say. Usually they stop and keep quiet because they realize their words will do harm. So guard your mouth and your tongue and you will be fine. You cannot do damage when you say nothing.

Do yourself a favour and watch your words. Think before you speak. Do not go through the day complaining about what you do not have or how you feel sick or hurt. If it is negative then do not speak a word of it. Rather focus on the positive around you and speak of that. The more we focus on the positive the sooner it will become natural to always see the BLESSINGS first. The negative will not seem worth mentioning then.

BE BLESSED
