Your mind and you

Updated on November 2, 2010

Your Mind and You

People always talk about the mind,

But what really is the mind?

Can you see it? Can you touch it? The answer to these two questions is no.

For the mind cannot really be explained with the senses.

So what really is it and what does it have to do with you.

One individual describes it as "the place where your thoughts are."I Repeat,

it is "the place where your thoughts are.

So where is that?

The mind is believed to be the seat of perception, self-consciousness, thinking, believing, remembering, hoping, desiring, willing, judging, analyzing, evaluating and reasoning,

It is understood as that private conversation with ourselves, the one we carry on "inside our heads and feel it in our hearts". Yes the mind is said to be associated with the heart and the brain.

Your thoughts are the initial seeds that determine the outcome of what you will experience.

It is where you will decide to do or not to do an action. Some of these thought come over a period of time and some are on the spot.

Did you know many individuals are sometimes unaware of their thoughts.

One must try to be consciously aware of what he or she is thinking. This is necessary so as to consciously change unhealthy thoughts. How can we do that? Is that possible?

Isaiah 26: 3 says, God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God

There is your answer; one must consciously keep one's mind stayed on God in order to have peace of mind, which is what everyone seeks.

Here are few quotes from some great individuals

  • A mind is a terrible thing to waste

  • What you think you become

  • The mind is like a parachute it works much better when opened.

  • Change your mind you change your life

I leave this little poem with you

Your mind and you

     By Soy Criada.

Your are the operator of your own dark room,

What are you developing in your mind's dark room?

The door is closed and you work alone,

What will it be when the curtains are drawn?

As you emerge from the dark room of your mind

Will you bring out just negatives dark and grey?

Or photographs of beauty, joy and light

Developed with aid from the mind of God.

      Juliet Christie,

I enjoyed this hub it is very thought provoking!

One often wonders how do you have peace of mind?

As you stated Isaiah says; "God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God." This is the truth!

      Wonderful job!
