Dreamers chase rainbows, children colour them, and songwriters have been known to pen a few words about them from time to time but the one person who truly understands them is an Aquarian. Water bearers are the "quirky uncles" of the zodiac - truly walking to the beat of a different drum.

Realists, non conformers, and unpredictable, Aquarians will deliberately adopt strange attire or hairstyles in order to stand out from the crowd. They delight in shocking the more conventional signs, and enjoy defying public opinion! These soft spoken, courteous souls can startle you with the most amazing statements or actions, and always at inopportune or unpredictable times.

If you want to spot the Aquarian in your midst, simply look for the tall, eccentrically dressed, blonde - the one with the far away look in his blue, green, or grey eyes. Aquarius generally has a vague, dreamy or wandering look on his face. Water bearers have a markedly noble profile, reminiscent of Roman emperors - finely chiseled, and often adopt a pose of cocking their heads, or dropping forward abruptly when they are thinking, or when awaiting the answer to a question.

Because of dual sexuality of Uranus, you will notice feminine characteristics in males, such as broad hips for example, and male characteristics in females, like broad shoulders.

Uranians are free spirits, funny, original and independent. They will almost always seek the comfort and security of crowds, and surround himself with friendship. Then in a typical 360 degree turn, they will become gloomy, morose and lonely - wanting to be left strictly alone! But regardless of which way he is turning, he will keep his sharp perception.

Aquarius is a natural rebel who feels instictively that old customs are wrong, and feels that what the world need now isn't love sweet love, but revolutionary change! He is always analyzing situations and people. It can be rather disturbing when he starts asking questions with the bare minimum of tact.

After he realizes the puzzle wasn't as complicated as he thought, he becomes bored. When you relate this action with a person, you can see how people can be upset with this sign. Just after being convinced that you are the most important person on the face of the planet it stings when the water bearer drops you like a hot potato and moves on to his next interest.

Even though Aquarians fixate on friendship, they don't have many intimate confidants. This is one sign that goes for quality over quantity, and they rarely settle down in a steady relationship for long...it's the boredom thing again.

There is a sense of isolation around this sign. Water bearers are generally misunderstood by the rest of us, and that is mainly because we haven't caught up to them yet. They live in the future, and come back only briefly to the present which deepens the isolation. And just because the rest of us can't keep up is no reason for them (in their opinion) to go backwards. So Aquarius generally wanders among the clouds alone, while we mere mortals wonder exactly what he's doing up there.

Water bearers are a curious mix of eccentric instability and cold, practicality. They have a peculiar empathy with the mentally disturbed, and can substantially reduce the anxiety of the insane simply by speaking to them quietly - no word of a lie! They have a knack for calming hysterical people and soothing frightened children.

Aquarians have such broad outlooks that it is extremely rare to find one who is prejudiced and intolerant. He is friends with Princes and paupers alike, gathering the waters of knowledge and pouring them back out again.

You can expect the Uranus born to give a frank opinion, but he will never tell you how you should think or live your life, and conversely, he will never let you tell him how he should think or live his. His philosophy is live and let live. Aquarius rarely fights fiercely for a cause, letting the other signs take up the quarrel. He is too busy trying to figure out the cause of the revolution and doesn't have time to join it.

Don't get me wrong, water bearers are no cowards, they just aren't geared for fighting. If one does catch him unawares, you can be sure his reaction will be unpredictable, but his thinking will remain constant, and his opinion will be as fixed tomorrow as it is today. Typical Aquarians fight best with their hats...they put them on and leave!

He won't budge in the least - regardless of his distaste for unpleasant confrontations. All the shouting in the world won't stop him from going his own way. He also has an obstanate way of not letting you know what he is up to, and they are full of surprises.

Once you have been accepted, and thoroughly scrutinized, his friendship and loyalty won't be shaken by even malicious gossip. He won't believe a word, however, he will listen out of sheer curiosity! However, once he forms an opinion, it remains fixed in his brain...and I do mean fixed!

The typical Aquarian is the embodiment of the absent-minded professor, yet his powers of concentration can be awesome...when they choose. Never underestimate their process of soaking up information even if they seem oblivious. They have the uncanny ability to dive into the unknown and absorb mystical secrets, and the majority of them are highly intuitive, giving them a high degree of psychic precognition - like answering the phone before it rings.

Water bearers despise lying and cheating, and avoid borrowing and lending money. They will give you money as a gift, but don't ask them for a loan. A broken promise or bad debt can put a very wide crack in your friendship. Aquarians keep their word and pay their bills, and they expect everyone else to do the same.

Aquarius is ahead of his time - so much so that you will have trouble catching his viewpoint immediately, but it's still worthwhile to make the attempt.
