I am a mother of three wonderful adult children, and I'm also a born-again Christian. I love to share my personal experiences.

To See My Prayers Answered

Being a mother and now (once again) a single parent, I have asked myself that same question, "Dear God where have I gone wrong?"

One of the hardest tasks in life is being a parent, at least for me it is. Sometimes being a parent means watching your own children whom you love so dearly, go through things that break your heart, and a little more each time.

How long Lord, how long must I wait until my prayers are answered?. Many years have gone by and still you don't see a change, at least you think there isn't a change.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him and He will do it.

Dear God where have I gone wrong? I really messed up as a parent. I did the best I could, but I know my best could have been better.

"Trust In The Lord" - With all your heart

Source

Trust: rely on somebody or something: to place confidence in somebody or in somebody's good qualities, especially fairness, truth, honor, or ability.

With all your heart: affection: love, or warm admiration. spirit: the capacity for courage and determination.

I am still waiting for the answer to these prayers. Can our prayers be answered in unexpected ways without us realizing it? What do you think on the matter?

When you pray, pray with the understanding that God does hear your prayers. Trust that He will grant your request, yet not always in the way we think is best.

Never lose hope, never stop praying no matter what the situation is, our children consistently need someone to stand in prayer for them. Especially in this day and age there are so many more temptations and things that they are up against.

Try not to get discouraged. I know that sometimes it is easier said than done, especially when there isn't anything in our lives that seem to be getting any better. Remember it is a spiritual battle and what may be going on in the spiritual realm it may not be seen in and through our human eyes. But God is working and we have to believe that.

Be grateful and try not to complain so much about your kids, our words are so important. This is one area that I myself need help with. I tend to speak what is on my mind (no filter), and I need to learn to speak positive about my children and need to speak good words over them, by planting those good seeds.

read, believe, and confess Isaiah 54:13

Lean Not - On your understanding

Source

I understand my weaknesses and failures. Will I walk today in that reality or trust in Jesus and rest in his finished work? No more attaining to secure His favor - just trusting in who He is and what He has already accomplished on my behalf and on my children's behalf, understand my children's lack of desire to learn and my impatience, frustration, and inadequacy in teaching them.

Will I head into this day with my own understanding and predetermined thoughts of how the day will go, or will I trust in the Lord? Will I trust that he died for my children? That he desires to work in them and me? Will I accept all from his hand today as his divine sovereign plan for our lives for our good and his glory?

Believe it or not it is a choice on our part. We have to choose for our children's sake, and practice this way of being, starting today.

I have heard of many testimonies of mothers who had a wayward child, and will now share one of them. There was a lady who said that her child was into drugs and everything else one could imagine. But she never wavered in her confession on him being a child of God, blessed by Him, serving him, etc. No matter what he was doing she never stopped believing and confessing this over his life. Today that son is in the ministry and serving the Lord. And why? Because he had a mother who never stopped believing, praying, and speaking good over him always.

I sometimes wish I was like this mother. I tend to take my eyes off of God only looking at the circumstance, but then I know the Lord knows my heart and He shows me mercy everyday without fail. It's a choice I need to make, a choice to trust in the Lord never doubting that He can change my children's circumstance, and ultimately make it for their eternal good.

Don't Stop - Praying

Source

We live in a fast paced world where everything is instant, we want to see things happen now instead of trusting and believing in God's sovereign plan. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:6; to admit to be real or true; recognize the existence, truth, or fact of: to acknowledge one's mistakes. And He shall direct your paths.

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him and He will do it.

Let us be encouraged and don't give up on your children, don't stop praying for them. No matter how it looks no matter how long it has been.

God is in control He hasn't given up on us and we should never give up on our children. Trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding.

Psalm 37:40

And the Lord shall help then, and deliver them: He shall delivered them from the wicked, and save then, because they trust in Him,

"Faith always says God has done it."

Getting your child back on track - Is one of the best thing we can do for our child

As parents we are sometimes at a loss when it comes to our children, we may have the answers when it comes to someone else's child. Not much when it happens to us, and it does and can. So we end up at a loss. Let us learn from the very ones that may have already walked that path, or research those that show themselves legit.

Prayer

O Christ Jesus,

when all is darkness

and we feel our weakness and helplessness,

give us the sense of Your presence,

Your love, and Your strength.

Help us to have perfect trust

in Your protecting love

and strengthening power,

so that nothing may frighten or worry us,

for living close to You,

we shall see Your hand,

Your purpose, Your will through all things.

This I pray in Jesus Christ name Amen!
