SHAPING OUR DESTINY

Hello and WELCOME TO Pastor Dr. Carlotta Boles Counseling Center.

As Christians we need to make decisions that will change our entire life. These decisions include when we decide to give our lives totally to Christ, when we decide to be all we can be in life, refusing to settle for less than we can be, and we decide to raise our standards, our values and our expectations in life. This will be the beginning of an exciting journey toward our destiny, a journey that can take us to many nations around the world. These decisions could enable us to meet people who can help us and bring new adventure and excitement into our lives.

There is power in making decisions. Everything that happens in our lives, including success or failure, begins with a decision. Our destiny is shaped by our decisions. The decisions we make today is the result of tomorrows future. For example, what we are today is the result of our past. We may have decided to go to High school, College or Bible school, or not to. We may have decided to get married, have children, or not to. We may have decided to buy or to build a house, or not to. We may have decided to make a career move, get into business, or not to. We may have decided to get into debt, or not to.

Every decision we make has an outcome. It is the decision we make, not our environments, that determine and shape our destiny. There are thousand of testimonies of man and women who have succeeded in life despite their limitations, poor environments and disadvantages. There are those who have become failures in life in spite of all the advantages they had. It is our decisions, not our environment, that determine our destiny.

When we make a decision that decision has to be followed by action. It is our actions, not mere words, that make our decisions powerful. Every action we take produces either a positive or negative result. We reap what we sow. If we want to change our lives, we must take action that will produce the kind of results that we desire. Different actions produce different results. We can become what we want by paying the right price. If we do not like what is going on in our lives, then we need to stop what we are doing and start doing things differently. change our actions, start sowing a different kind of seed.

We have learned that most things in life attainable and possible if the proper price is met. Most people would attain what they desire if they learn to focus their attention on those things that are important and if they were willing to consistently improve themselves by developing new skills and friends.

We have lived long enough to see people from humble beginnings make it to the top because they refused to allow their devastating backgrounds hold them back. By the same token, we have seen people born into privileged environments, with ever good opportunity for success, end up in defeat and frustration. Life is what we make of it!

Have a goal, meditate, conditions of our lives does not matter, it's the decisions we make, follow through, think long term, avoid short-term gratification, failures obstacles or adversities are not permanent. They will pass! Be willing to change, have a plan, protect the mind our thought-life is very important because we become what we think. To succeed in life, we must develop right thinking. This may take days, weeks, months, even years to develop and establish new thought patterns. Try to avoid negative environments and negative people.

If you haven't accepted Christ as your Savior simply say in an audible voice, in all sincerity from the depths of your heart, "Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sins and accept me as Your child. I accept You as my personal Savior and I promise to follow the instructions of Your Word from this day on. If I fail because I am human, please help pick me up so I can try again! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from all my sins. AMEN."
