The Supreme God Against the Supreme Court's Decision on Same-Sex Marriage

Jim Obergefell and John Arthur had wanted to get married for a long time but were unable to do so in their home state of Ohio. They could, however, get married in one of the handful of states that did allow same-sex couples to marry. So their wedding took place on July 11, 2013 aboard a small airplane on the tarmac at Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport in Maryland. The married couple immediately returned to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Three months after the wedding John Arthur (age 48) died of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) a fatal neurological disease that paralyzes the body. The death certificate of John Arthur was originally written as “married” because a federal judge sided with Obergefell. Since the State of Ohio at that time did not officially recogniize same-sex marriage, so the death certificate was amended to “single”.

Jim Obergefell wanted to be named in the death certificate as the surviving spouse of his late husband John Arthur so he sued the State of Ohio.

On November 14, 2014, Jim Obergefell together with other same-sex couples filed their applications for certiorari (a writ seeking judicial review) with the U.S. Supreme Court. They asked the court to consider whether Ohio's refusal to recognize marriage from other jurisdictions violates the Fourteenth Amendment's guarantees of due process and equal protection, and whether the state's refusal to recognize the adoption judgment of another state violates the U.S. Constitution's Full Faith and Credit clause.

On June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court held in a 5–4 decision that the Fourteenth Amendment requires all states to grant same-sex marriages and recognize same-sex marriages granted in other states.

The decision of the U. S. Supreme Court means absolutely nothing to the Supreme God of the Universe. “But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.” (Psm. 75:7) “For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.“ (Psm 96:13)

The majority of the people in the United States of America have forgotten about the Almighty One True God who is the Creator of Mankind. He is the One who instituted marriage. Here is what the Lord Jesus Christ said about marriage. “And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,'and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." (Mt. 19:4-6) Marriage is the union between one man and one woman who is joined by God.

The Supreme God does not recognize nor approve a marriage between a man and another man, or a woman with another woman? Same-sex marriage is an ungodly union that is against God's original institution of marriage.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Jim Obergefell's case — Obergefell v. Hodges—and in doing so legalized same-sex marriage for gay couples nationwide. While Obergefell was still standing in front of the Supreme Court the President of the United States, Barak Obama called him and said: "Not only have you been a great example for people, but you're also going to bring about a lasting change in this country. And it's pretty rare where that happens," Obama said. "I couldn't be prouder of you and your husband." President Obama actually referred to the deceased John Arthur as Jim Obergefell's “husband”.

On May 9, 2012 President Barack Obama announced that he believes same-sex couples should be granted the right to marry, becoming the first U.S. president in history to fully embrace that level of civil rights for gays.

The states of Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New England, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Vermont have already legalized same sex marriage by the time of the Election of 2012. On the Election night of November 6, 2012 the states of Maryland, Maine and Washington had voted in favor of same-sex marriage.

The word “desolation” means emptiness, bareness, uninhabitation and desertion. It refers to the condition of a place that had been laid waste, deserted and became uninhabited. The word "desolation" also means barrenness.

Abomination of desolation” simply means the human behavior of the people is such that it causes barrenness. Same sex marriage cannot reproduce children. Homosexuality is the "abomination of desolation" (Lev. 18:22; 20:13). The cities that practice homosexuality are so vile and loathesome to God that He would cause it to become desolate and uninhabited. There are only two cities mentioned in the entire Bible that God had destroyed because of their abominable sin of homosexuality, and that is Sodom and Gommorrah."and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;" (2 Pet. 2:6) “as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” (Jude 1:7)

• “So the Jews answered and said to Him, "What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?" But He was speaking of the temple of His body.Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.”(Jn. 2:18-22)

The Lord Jesus Christ had given us the new meaning of the temple which is His body. The apostle Paul wrote: "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” (1 Cor. 3:16-17)

• “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."(1 Cor. 6:18-20)

When Christians engage in homosexual acts they defile the temple of God which is committing the wicked sin called abomination of desolation.

Hurricane–Superstorm Sandy made landfall near Atlantic City, New Jersey on October 29, 2012, which is about one week before Election day.

Superstorm Sandy was the deadliest hurricane in the northeastern U.S. in 40 years and the second-costliest in the nation's history. At least 117 people in the United States and 69 more in Canada and the Caribbean were killed. More than 650,000 U.S. homes were damaged or destroyed by the storm, and more than 8 million customers in 15 states have lost power, according to the report.Subway tunnels in Lower Manhattan were flooded, but some lines had resumed service. Airlines had canceled more than 15,000 flights around the world. Most gas stations in New York City and New Jersey were closed because of power shortages and depleted fuel supplies.

There are two distinctive factors in Hurricane-Superstorm Sandy that are connected to the same-sex marriage in the United States.

1. All the states that have legalized same-sex marriage were affected by it.

2. It occurred during the Election Week that all the states have referendums on same-sex marriage.
