The Origin of Meditation

Have you ever asked yourself, "Where did meditation originate? If the answer is yes, then you asked the same question which has baffled many scientists, philosophers, anthropologist and countless others for centuries.

Historical evidence shows that meditation is a long standing tradition in many Asian countries such as in India, Japan, China etc. So, exactly where did meditation originate? Meditation appears to be universal, appearing in every cultures all over the world. The only difference between them are the styles, goals and purposes.

Tantric meditation was developed by South Indian tribes between 10-15 thousand years ago. The main goal was to understand the mechanism of conscious mind. So the question "Where did meditation originate?", may be answered as, this is where mediation originated. It was definitely widespread. Tantric meditation was further developed about seven thousand years ago by the yogi Shiva which became an integral part of Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism, many varieties of Zen and also Sufism.

Where did meditation originate is a question that will be with us for eternity, as scientists, researchers, philosophers, and archeologists will continue to unveil the lost record of meditation. What we actually all know that, steady meditation practice has a very powerful and beneficial health giving effects on us.

      Meditation started with the original culture of Sanatan Dharma, It is the source of the Civilization of the world.

      Even though you are using words like Chackra , yoga etc which are clear words of Sanskrit, The answer is staring right at your face and most people can hardly see it?

      hi i found the page ok understandable yet not im a teenager doing r.e homework so it could include more information appart from that very good. (i tried the tape thing it was very relaxing)!
