NFL post season - "My Predictions"

Updated on November 17, 2015

My Predictions for the Wild card games!

My predictions for this upcoming year's NFL post season games are really very simple. The Cincinnati Bengals will crush the Houston Texans in the first AFC wild card game. Followed by a similar action the very next day in the second AFC wild card game. Only this time the Pittsburgh Steelers defense will punch a big hole right through the Denver Broncos offensive line (who have now lost 3 in a row), and will become the victors. On the NFC side the New Orleans Saints will pull off a narrow victory, in front of a very happy home crowd against the stubborn Detroit lions. In the other NFC wild card game the New York Giants will hand the Atlanta Falcons an old fashion whopping.

My predictions for the divisional play off games.

In the AFC the Baltimore Ravens, who won every single one of their divisional games this season will smash the Cincinnati Bengals for the third straight time this year. Further up North the Pittsburgh Steelers will at the last minute beat the New England Patriots in front of a stunned crowd, in some very cold temperatures. On the NFC side the Green Bay Packers will shut down the New York Giants in a very low scoring game. for the final NFC divisional game the San Francisco 49ers will just plain wear down the New Orleans Saints in a dog fight of a game.

My predictions for the conference championship games!

The AFC Baltimore Ravens who won by four touchdowns in their first meeting this year, will for the 3rd straight time this season pull off a close win against an injured Pittsburgh Steeler team. The NFC will see the defending world champion Green Bay Packers lose to a much faster San Francisco 49er team. Thus setting up the scene for Super Bowl XLVI !!

My predictions for Super Bowl XLVI !

There's only one possible outcome for Super Bowl XLVI, and nobody could possibly even think about Denying this result. My prediction for Super Bowl XLVI is - The Baltimore Ravens will repeat their earlier win this season against the San Fransisco 49ers with a 16 to 6 win!!! And you can take that prediction to the bank!!!

The Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens!

Some simple facts - Over the past four seasons, the Baltimore Ravens are the only team to earn four consecutive playoff berths, and they are the only NFL team to win at least one playoff game in each of the past four seasons. In their last meeting the Baltimore Ravens beat New England, 33-14, serving the Patriots their first home playoff defeat since back in the the year 1978. It's the Baltimore Ravens time to shine!

Which of these two teams do you think will win Super Bowl XLVI?

(Poll closes at the start of the Super Bowl)

  • 50% New England Patriots
  • 50% New York Giants
46 people have voted in this poll.

This poll is now closed to voting.

This poll was started at the end of the very last playoff game, and ended prior to the start of the Super Bowl. What was most interesting about this poll was that both Super Bowl XLVI teams were favored equally at 50/50 prior to the start of the big game on February 5th 2012.

Who do you think will win Super Bowl XLVI ?

You Decide ?

  • 16% Baltimore Ravens
  • 7% San Fransisco 49ers
  • 8% Pittsburgh Steelers
  • 2% Atlanta Falcons
  • 5% Houston Texans
  • 22% Green Bay Packers
  • 1% Cincinnati Bengals
  • 15% New England Patriots
  • 1% Detroit Lions
  • 5% Denver Broncos
  • 8% New Orleans Saints
  • 11% New York Giants
133 people have voted in this poll.

This poll is now closed to voting.

This poll was started prior to the first game of the playoffs being played. What was interesting about this poll was that Green Bay was the most favored team out of all 12 of the playoff teams, and they failed to win ONE playoff game. Another interesting thing which I noticed was that the Cincinnati Bengals who were at 0% finally got a vote way after they were eliminated from the playoffs. Now that was one die hard fan!

But it's interesting to scroll through the results. It's such a great way to get readers involved in your writing.

That's fine Daytona, but as a true Baltimore Ravens fan It's my duty to cheer on Ray Lewis & company. You see, not only were me & my little sister born in the same hospital (Church Home) as Edgar Allen Poe died in, but in the same room as well. With the Baltimore Ravens being named after one of his most famous poems, it's in our blood.

I'm glad this little hub helped you out bizzymom with your family football discussions. You can also toss in the fact that before the start of tomorrows big Conference Championship games that there are only 4 possible game match-ups for Super Bowl XLVI. They are 1)The Baltimore Ravens vs. The 49ers. 2)The Baltimore Ravens vs. The New York Giants. 3)The New York Giants vs. the Patriots. & 4) The Patriots vs. the 49ers. I'm sure by now everyone out there that has visited this hub knows where I stand!

Fullerman5000 - I am glad to see someone else wanting to see a Baltimore Raven & 49er super bowl. The Ravens have been in every single playoff berth for the past 4 years, and they are due. If these two teams do successfully make it, then everyone needs to be prepared for all of the "Brotherly Coach" hype that the media will be spilling out to us, all over the television, radio, internet, and newspapers.

With the Conference Championship weekend now upon us, I'd like to break down the above NFL football poll. With 124 votes in now, the Baltimore Ravens are coming in strong with 16% of the votes, verses New England's 12%. The New York Giants hold a whopping 11% of the votes, verses the 49ers 7%. I'd like to thank everyone who has voted in the poll, and now the biggest thing left to do is to keep the Baltimore Raven's Quarterback off of a child's skateboard until this football season is complete!

Now I'll admit that the New York Giants have been looking real tough lately, which has held strong ever since their last regular season "winner take all" game with the Dallas Cowboys, so we'll all just have to wait & see what unfolds three days from now.

Okay Kathleen, but the Patriots aren't going up against some high school team from Denver with an 8-8 record this time. I'd like to point out that the last time the Baltimore Ravens and the Patriots met in a playoff game, that the Ravens won 33-14. Need I say anymore.

"THEN THERE WERE FOUR", With the divisional playoffs now behind us, my predictions hold true at 50%. The Baltimore Ravens are still poised to meet up with the San Francisco 49ers in super bowl XLVI, which remains in line with my ultimate overall prediction. I'm sure any doubters out there have since raised their eyebrows as 28 other NFL teams are sitting at home now. Now onto the winning locker room speech from Baltimore Raven's coach John Harbaugh - "Nobody holds onto a 4 point lead in this league, except this team."

With the San Fransisco 49ers amazing game winning finish over the Saints, sorry about that Adrian, my predictions remain 50% accurate with the 49ers still poised to go to the super bowl. @ Steve Lensman. That's okay Steve, it is just an excuse to eat snacks and drink beer.

If you want to fit in, just remember what color your team is wearing. If they catch the ball, or run across a yellow line say "Yes!" real loud. If they cross the line line at the end of the field, jump up, yell, "In your face!" and start fist pumping or doing a happy dance.

Now you are a football fan.

PS - if in doubt, hesitate. If the people rooting for the other team start cheering. Curse under your breath.

The Giants looked really good Whimsical Chair, but I don't think they have much of a chance against those Packers. And I'm going to check out Tebow & your new hub Storytellersrus.

I wrote a hub on Tebow and Eric Liddell, an amazing duo. I don't think we Broncos will win, but what a great ride.

Congrats on the NY Giants for making me look bad. I was going against them because to me they've been more inconsistent than the Falcons this season. I also didn't like the fact they had 2 sort of easy victories against the Cowboys during the end of the season.

Thanks Tonipet for the recipe, and the vote of confidence for the Baltimore Ravens. Need I remind you manlypoetryman That the Houston Texans are 0-5 against the Ravens, and have never ever beaten them as of this date. They also played earlier this season, and the Baltimore Ravens won by more then two touchdowns. Also pay attention to the opening moments of the game, I certainly wouldn't want to be an opposing team in that stadium on that day!

Well...looks like everyone is picking the Ravens. Interesting...Since I am a Houston Texan Fan! The Texans have done well this season...and the upcoming play-off game against the Ravens is for all the marbles. I choose my team...if we can pull off some great offense on the ground...or in the air (with our fantastic rookie QB)...and throw the Ravens off their game...while they are at home...where they tend to dominate. The defenses will go head to head because of their high rankings. Looks like an uphill battle for Houston...and we down here Houston...wouldn't have it any other way. That's just our History...Go Texans!

Hi goody5. I like sports but not really into football, so I guess I could only suggest easy soup recipes that work for the long AFC and NFC playoff season. Try these soups http://ezinearticles.com/?Soup-Recipes-for-the-Foo...

Voted up for Ravens! Thanks for the mail and the invite.

Interesting mquee, Tebow mania is at it's height today, but I'm not jumping on that band wagon.

What I like about this season is the so-called experts said Tebow would be on somebody's bench as a backup (maybe) and that Cam Newton would be a reciever. You never know what drives a person.

Thanks for stopping by so quickly cclitgirl, but you better hope that they don't have to face the Ravens in Baltimore. And mquee they really were a shoe in against those injured Steelers. Did you both know that they broke another record with their fast O.T. win - "the most tweets per second record" LOL

Upsets already. I believe after seeing the Broncos this weekend, they will go further than anticipated (they already have). Tebow is throwing the long ball and with good accuracy, making him and the Broncos more difficult to formulate a defensive scheme for. In the end though, I think it will be the Saints and the Packers, with Saints coming out on top.

Thank you for voting kashmir56, but the Packers aren't in yet. However the football poll above agrees with you with the packers coming in now at 26%, and the Baltimore Ravens coming in at 17%. So if this poll holds true then we now have our 2 Super Bowl teams.

I don't know about all of that suzzycue, but thank you! And myhubtips, need I remind you that Ray Lewis & the gang has already put the 49ers in their place one time this season, and they will be more then happy to do it again. You are going to need a lot of luck with that one!

I would like to interject now as the wild card weekend finally comes to a close. My predictions still hold true with a 50% winning ratio. Even with the Bengal & Steeler losses, all of my predictions are still on track. The biggest difference is that the Baltimore Ravens will now just have to pound a win out of the Houston Texans. That shouldn't be that big of a deal since the Ray Lewis & the Baltimore Ravens beat Houston by over 2 touchdowns earlier this season with a score of 29-14! Keep on coming back for more fun as the post season moves onward, and I would like to thank to everyone who has so far participated & voted in the football poll above. It's still not too late to cast your vote, but remember we're all on the honor system here, so please only cast ONE vote. I also want to congratulate Storytellersrus on her Bronco win, and best of luck to you & all of your kids in New England! And yes gregas I think the Denver Broncos shocked everyone, especially since only 8% of those that voted in the football poll above picked them. I bet you that number will start to increase now!

Okay. Green bay packers are one of the best teams right now, but seeing they lost two of their "strong" offensives linemens i don't think they can go all the way. Its going to come down to the saints and packers in the NFC championship and the saints are most likely to win. In the AFC, its gonna be the Patriots and the Settlers. I mean, look at the Patriots they have the most experience in the playoffs! Nobody is even mentioning them! And yet their 11-3!!! I hate the patriots, but come on now, their most likely to go to the super bowl. My prediction is the it will tlbe the Saints and Patriots in the super bowl. And that will be a great game.
