5 Takeaways From Monday Night Raw - 7/16/18

Updated on July 17, 2018

This is my series, simply known as "5 Takeaways", where I will share my personal main talking points coming out of Raw and SmackdownLive.

These are all my opinion, so I may miss a nugget or two. If you have something to add to my list, or a list of your own, feel free to share in the comment section below!

We are a group of long-time wrestling fans living in the Tri-State area. We have results, news, and so much more!

A Bobby Roode/Mojo Rawley Feud Isn't Exciting, But It Doesn't Sound Too Awful

Now I'm not a fan of Bobby Roode at all, and I feel like if he wants to do anything interesting in WWE, it will have to be involving a tag team or a complete character change.

However, his interaction with Mojo Rawley did not seem like a terrible idea. Now I know a feud between those two seems like a snoozefest to most, but I've seen enough out of Rawley to think he can hold his own in this mid-card feud. Let's just hope Roode isn't too annoying.

Potential Tag Team Contenders Start To Take Shape

With the tag team champions, the B-Team successfully defending their titles last night, we saw The Revival watching from backstage, as well as the Authors of Pain win their match later on. These are two potential future champions in their own right.

The B-Team will likely lose their belts soon, which would open the door to make this a more serious division. Unfortunately for the current champs, this would be the right choice.

What's Going On With Sasha and Bayley?

So it seems like Sasha and Bayley and cool again? With Banks saving Bayley from an attack, and their strange segment backstage, I don't know what to make of the pair.

It would seem as though WWE messed up this feud yet again, so there's not much left to say here.

Another Rousey Suspension? This is Going To Get Old...

Look, there are a couple of things everybody can agree on: Rousey is great with her all-out assaults, and WWE is just trying to buy some time until Summerslam, as Alexa Bliss will defend her title against Rousey at the show.

Extending her suspension won't do much for her, especially since it's by literally one week. I hope they don't keep reusing this every week, yet WWE wouldn't surprise me at all if they did.

Is a Reigns/Lashley rematch to face Lesnar the right move?

The Two Triple Threat Matches Lead To A Lame Outcome *yawn*

Way to drop the ball, WWE. Starting off with a fantastic triple threat match involving Finn Bálor, Drew McIntyre, and the obvious winner Roman Reigns. The other match was very disappointing, with Bobby Lashley predictably defeating Elias and Seth Rollins.

Reigns will beat Lashley next week to get his "retribution" and face Lesnar at Summerslam for the Universal title. There so many potential outcomes, including a Reigns vs Rollins match, or even a Drew McIntyre vs Rollins rematch for next week. Instead all we can do is yawn...
