5 Takeaways From Summerslam 2018
After the biggest event of the summer, what occurred during the major matches? The biggest stories moving forward will indeed be discussed here, so hold on to your socks, and let's BURN IT DOWN!
These are all my opinion, so I may miss a nugget or two. If you have something to add to my list, or a list of your own, feel free to share in the comment section below!

Rollins Gets the Title Back
After a rivalry that's gone on for years (or so it seems) Seth Rollins finally won his Intercontinental title back after a very good back and forth match. As always, the in-ring work was quite good, and we even saw a pretty sweet new move from Seth Rollins. He hit an overhead Reverse DDT from the top rope, into another lift up/sit down Reverse DDT with a rotation (I'm pretty clueless on how to describe it).
Anyway, the feud was beginning to get stale, but with Dean Ambrose in Rollins' corner, it freshened up the story quite a bit. There were multiple times where Drew McIntyre was looking to get involved like usual, but Ambrose got right up in his face (I really want to see that match).
After the match, it was very curious to see if we'd see that Ambrose heel turn. We obviously didn't, so it looks as though WWE is going to save that for later... unless it happens on Raw...
Miz Beats Daniel Bryan
The match that many were waiting for didn't disappoint. There was about 8 years of story that has gone into this feud, and the match was very good as well.
The ending saw Maryse slip The Miz some brass knuckles, which led to his victory. Like the previous match, this one will also likely continue into Hell in a Cell, as Bryan needs to get his revenge and even the score. Ideally, they'd have Bryan win, and finally have their third and final match at Wrestlemania, where Daniel Bryan finally wins this feud for good.
Was it the right call to have The Miz defeat Daniel Bryan?
Styles Loses His Cool
Samoa Joe has been making this a very personal feud between the two, constantly involving the champ's family to get under his skin. Tonight was not the night, and Styles went off on Joe, including tackling him through the barricade.
His attack eventually cost Styles the match (by disqualification, so he remains the champ), as he was relentless in punishing the challenger for his recent actions and words.
The most personal feud happening today will assuredly continue into Hell in a Cell next month, since they are obviously far from done. Seeing how easy it is to get under AJ's skin, it seems like will likely cost him the title at some point, as his focus is always affected.
Charlotte Wins the Title... But Becky Lynch Turns Heel!
During the end of a good match match, it looked as though Becky Lynch had the title won. She had the Dis-Arm-Her locked in on Carmella, until Charlotte came up and hit her with the Natural Selection for the win. Following the match, the two friends embraced... then Lynch snapped.
Attacking her now former friend out of pure frustration of always being "so close" to getting a big victory, she officially turned heel for the first time since her NXT days.
It wasn't necessarily unexpected (although I thought it was Charlotte who'd turn first), but it's definitely a welcome change. Lynch wasn't getting stale as a character, but this breathes new life into her for sure. I'm very excited for this Charlotte/Becky title feud.
Reigns Finally Does It
It's finally happened. It feels like about fifteen matches in the last year, but Reigns beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship.
Braun Strowman came out before the match, claiming he'd cash in on whoever won. Well, that didn't happen, as mid-match, Brock Lesnar took him out with an F-5, a shot with the briefcase, and a chair shot. He got back into the ring to meet a spear by Roman (and that chair landed on his face) for the 3 count.
It looks we could be finally moving on from Reigns/Lesnar, into a Reigns/Strowman title feud (which will be so much better). I'm just glad we finally have a Universal champion who will show up consistently (I'm not a Reigns fan, but I'm not a hater either). I just want Brock Lesnar out of the picture.
