A Tim Tebow Biography

Tim Tebow an 80's baby was born Timothy Richard Tebow in Makati City, Philippines on August 14, 1987. Doctors originally thought that Timothy could face birth complications because of a pathogenic infection his mother had. Furthermore doctors suggested that his mother should have an abortion due to her illness. Well of course that never happen and Tim, the youngest of five children grew to live a normal physical life. Tim along with his two brothers & two sisters were home schooled. His teacher was his mother who incorporated a Christian lifestyle in the household.

The beginning of football came in 1996 when legislation in Florida allowed students who were home schooled to participate in local sporting functions. Tim got his first taste on the football field playing at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. The following year Timothy's mother and Timothy both had moved to a small apartment near St. Johns County so that Tim may qualify to play for Nease High School at quarterback position. Straight from the start people were critical of a small town boy who was home schooled playing for their county school. Despite the critics Tim Tebow went to achieve success and became a top NCAA prospect by his junior year. His most acclaimed moment was when he finished a game with a broken leg. He went on to lead his high school to a state title and earned honors nationwide and was named Florida's Mr. Football.

By his senior year Tim Tebow was being watch by all NCAA teams and was featured on a special airing on ESPN titled "Time Tebow: The Chosen One ". He was also featured in Sports illustrated as one of the best players to play the game in Florida's 100 year history of high school football.

After high school Tim left for the Phillipines and would not return until three years later to join the NCAA with the Florida Gators in 2006. He started playing backup for quarterback Chris Leak. Without starting, Tebow threw 15 out of 21 passes for 197 yeards and 1 touchdown in 2006. His first play against S. Mississippi was for a successful quarterback rush that led to a touchdown, instantly people loved his energy. In his second game he led his team in rushing in a game against UCF.

In 2007 Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer declared Tim Tebow the starting quarterback. In his debut Tim Tebow completed 13 out of 17 passes totaling 300 years that led to 3 touchdowns. In that same year Tebow broke a school record for total yards in one game by a quarterback by rushing 166 yards. He went on to break many school records and even some national NCAA records for quarterback rushing. By years end he had 19 rushing touchdowns in 2007. On December 8, 2007 Tim Tebow was recognized as the Heisman Trophy winner, the biggest achievement for many if not all of the NCAA football players.

In 2008 Tim was suffering from a shoulder injury from the 2007 season against Kentucky. He went on to play and led his team to a 12-1 record and clenched the 2008 SEC Championship win against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The win led the team to the BCS Champoinship game which they won with a score of 24-14 against the Oklahome Sooners.

In 2009 after running for 2 touchdowns Tim Tebow was 2nd in place for all time rushing touchdown list. He played the game with a respiratory illness. Shortly atfer his 2nd touchdown he was hit hard and suffered a concussion which sidelined him and eventually led him to the hospital. On October 31, 2009 Tebow ran for his 50th & 51st touchdown setting another NCAA record. In his last NCAA game in the Sugar Bowl in 2010 Tebow had 553 yards of total offense which of course was another new record.

Tim Tebow graduated from the University of Florida in December of 2009 with a bachelors degree in family, youth and community sciences. At the NFL draft of 2010 the Denver Broncos picked Tim Tebow, 25th in their pick. He signed a 5-year contract for 11.25 million dollars. Due to the NFL lockout we had a delay in seeing him play. The 2011 season turned out to be talk about Tebow year. He took the Denver Broncos to the playoffs making many people fans.

On June 7, 2011 Timothy Richard " Tim " Tebow released his own autobiography entitled " Through my Eyes. The book reflects more on his religious upbringing and starts with a verse from the bible. Check out the book on Amazon below.

UPDATE: As of 05/05/2012 Tim Tebow was traded to the NY Jets and is said to be starting as a punt kick protector.
