12. Pennsylvania

Per Capita Score: 290

1,000 Yard Performances: 37

Pennsylvania has had a number of good receivers, but Marvin Harrison stands out as one of the greatest to ever play the game. His 8 thousand yard performances are quite a feat, but active wide receiver Brandon Marshall is on his heals with 7.

Perhaps Harrison’s most impressive accomplishment, his 143 receptions in 2002, a formidable NFL record.

14. Georgia

Per Capita Score: 280

1,000 Yard Performances: 28

Georgia has had a number of good receivers, retirees like Hines Ward and Drew Hill, to name a few, but they also have the most prominent current receiver: Calvin Johnson.

For those of you who like obscure stats, Georgia’s own Elbert Dubenion holds the record for the fewest catches for 1,000 yards at the end of an AFL/NFL season with 42.

16. Virginia

Per Capita Score: 242

1,000 Yard Performances: 20

With a 10,000 yard career, Gary Clark is probably the most consistent receiver to come out of Virginia. Had it not been for concussions, Al Toon may have been the best.

17. Missouri

Per Capita Score: 199

1,000 Yard Performances: 12

The best receiver to ever come out of Missouri was probably a tight end. Kellen Winslow Sr. is a Hall of Famer and was an integral part of the high flying Chargers of the late 70s and early 80s.
