Philadelphia Eagles Won the Super Bowl After NFL Drafts Were Held There

The excitement around the #NFL Draft which was held in Philadelphia in 2017 brought a tremendous vibe to the city. A year later in 2018 the Philadelphia Eagles went on to win their first Super Bowl title against the New England Patriots. Was it smart that during this NFL Draft, Jehovah’s Witnesses we’re allowed to feature Bible based literature throughout this event? Did someone or something more powerful look favorably upon the #Philadelphia Eagles‘ team? Interesting questions but it is definitely intriguing to the thought process. The Eagles had a 41-33 victory over the Patriots one of the greatest teams in football history. This was an indelible part of history the Philadelphia fans will never forget.

The NFL Drafts brought in more than a hundred thousand visitors each day, starting from Thursday, April 27, 2017 through April 29th. It was "the 82nd annual meeting of the National Football League franchises to select newly eligible American football players," mentioned Wikipedia. Rick Williams of #Action News gave this report concerning the first two days of the draft as he stated: "The city of Philadelphia was on full display during round one last night and this morning a record breaking announcement from the NFL. Nearly a 100,000 fans took part in the NFL experience on day one yesterday. . .This is the largest attendance ever for a draft related event and many more are expected today of course."

The skies were blue and temperatures incandescently tolerable. Visitors strolled into history as "Philadelphia has record attendance for 2017 NFL Draft. Philadelphia's crowd atmosphere during the 2017 NFL Draft was electric. It was also historic. The league announced Saturday that 250,000 people to attend this year's draft is an all-time NFL draft attendance record. #Philadelphia marked the first time a host city held the draft outside, and based on the record turnout, it certainly won't be the last either," explained the publication Around The NFL.

Spiritual Food Was Abundantly Available at the NFL Drafts

This outstanding record of attendance and beautiful weather, inspired #Jehovah's Witnesses to volunteer their time and efforts. Tourists could partake of Bible based literature which were displayed on various carts, within the vicinity of the 2017 NFL Drafts held in Philadelphia. One of the Witnesses expressed why they felt the need to be present at this type of event. "We love to be where the people are to share the good news of God's Kingdom. It is vitally important that people of all races and religious beliefs hear this promising message from the #Bible that will benefit all mankind." They spoke with hundreds of individuals and handed out free of charge literature about the Bible's wonderful promises for the future.

A array of fans did attend the draft such as an Eagle's Team ticket holder which has been a fan since 1961. This fan had the privilege of handing over a jersey to Commissioner Roger Goodell. She excitedly expressed, "It was awesome!" Regardless of the reason each individual attended the NFL Drafts of 2017, it was a tremendous success for fans and residents.

The Penn Relays Were Part of the Events in Philadelphia During the NFL Drafts Where Free Bible Literature was also Featured

The Penn Relays were also held April 27-29th, 2017 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia as well as the NFL Drafts. Such exciting events occurred as the Olympic Development Men's 400 Hurdles, Junior Women's 5K Racewalk, High School Boy's 400m Hurdles Championship and USA vs the World Women Sprint Medley "Now in its 123rd year, the #Penn Relay Carnival is the world's first - and most widely recognized relay meet. Each year, this historic rite of Spring draws crowds of up to 100,000 to the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field where spectators know they'll see some of the world's top track athletes compete;" stated Visit Philadelphia official visitor and travel site.

Spiritual Bible Based Literature Was Available at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia

Jehovah's Witnesses were stationed in the vicinity of the Penn Relays at Franklin Field, during this 2017 event. Armed with smiles and genuine concern for the future of others, these individuals willingly volunteered their time and efforts. Bibles and Bible based literature were offered for free to visitors of this event. Hundreds of tourists took literature and some even requested a free home Bible Study. We are living in critical times, so it is encouraging to see that people recognize the need to have God in their lives. Colossians 3: 1 & 2 states, "If, however, you were raised up with the Christ, go on seeking the things above, where the Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Keep your minds fixed on the things above, not on the things on the earth."(NWT of the Holy Scriptures)

The NFL Drafts and Penn Relays, brought people of all races and cultures together. It was good to see a balance of fun, good association, spiritual and physical food, be the focus of two major events in Philadelphia. One news reporter acknowledged, that not one person was arrested nor was there any form of violence during these events. Good job Philadelphia! We not only had beautiful weather but maybe some of God's favor. We look forward to this type of behavior in the future for all our events.

The Purpose of Spiritual Food Being Available at Such An Historical Event

We watched the smiling faces of people everywhere as we sat in front of City Hal, downtown Philadelphia. Children frantically played in the fountains of water located in front of the facility. The sun beamed down sparingly due to the temperate, unexpected weather in April. It was a perfect time to be out amongst so many joyous people regardless of age, gender or race. It was an amazing opportunity to meet so many families, friends and tourists.

Many individuals could be critical or try to assume why Bible based literature was offered by Jehovah's Witnesses at the 2017 NFL Drafts. Personally, I feel their love of God and people was a major reason. They want to be where people are, in order to share a tremendous hope, about a kingdom ruled by #Jesus Christ that will eliminate all sickness, pain, sorry and death. Hundreds of tourists visited these displays in search of that hope for the future of mankind. Physical Food as well as Spiritual Food Was Available at the NFL Drafts

After I saw, the enormous amounts of tourists attend 2017 NFL Drafts, where history was created as hundreds of thousands attended, It was time for physical food. I watched brothers and sisters organized themselves to do a preaching work through their carts and displays. It was impressive to see how thorough everything about this event was. I was truly thrilled to be a part of it.

Now it was dinner time and we decided to eat at the White Dog Café. We had Long Island Iced Teas, raw oysters on the half shell and Carrot Ginger Soup as appetizers. Our entrees consisted of Green Meadow Double Cheddar Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. I had the Spicy Lamb Bolognese Pasta with Rigatoni, Jersey Crushed Tomatoes with Wilted Spinach and Basil Ricotta. It was absolutely delectable. White Dog Café, is located at 342 Samson Street, Philadelphia, Pa.

The NFL Drafts, Penn Relays, spiritual food, physical food and association of smiling tourists as well as Jehovah Witnesses' eagerness to help people, caused these days to be an outstanding experience. We look forward to sharing similar events in the future.
