Frozen Fun At Disneyland
First I would like to wish you all a happy new year! With the new year comes new exciting things especially at Disneyland. I am sure you all have seen the movie Frozen (if you haven't, you clearly have been living under a rock troll); it is one of my favorite more recent Disney movies. I'm sure that you have also noticed that Frozen has taken over the world. It is everywhere. Well Frozen has officially taken over Disneyland! Prepare yourself for many movie quotes and Frozen fun.
As soon as you step of the escalators in the parking structure you will notice these billboard where the tram picks you up. They are so cute and really got me excited for all the Frozen fun in store. Previously the only thing Frozen inside of disneyland was the Anna and Elsa meet and greet. from now until mid May Frozen has taken over California Adventure's Hollywood Studios. There are also a few fun additions to Disneyland too.
California Adventure
After heading down Buena Vista Street you can't help but notice this gigantic 3D snowflake. It is so cute and is the perfect picture spot. There is a photographer stationed in front just for this reason!
Frozen Sing-a-long
Located inside of the Muppet 3D Vision building is the Frozen Sing-a-long experience. Not only do you get to sing your favorite songs but this is a retelling of the story of Frozen. Plus expect a few guests to stop by along the way!
Olaf's Snow Fest
Do you want to build a snowman? Well now you can or anything else you want. At Olaf's Snow Fest you get to play in the snow. This is such a cool thing to do especially in Southern California where we never get snow. This is so much more than just snow play; you can ride a sled, get some snacks, even listen to a live band! Did I mention that you can also meet Olaf? Wait! What?!
It was so much fun walking around on the snow but my suggestion to you would be wear shoes! It is real snow and your feet do get cold after a while. I feel that if I had worn sandals I would have been miserable.
I was so not expecting what I saw inside. It is so pretty and I felt like I was inside the movie. The snow area is the courtyard where they ice skate on in the end; even the frozen fountain is in the middle! There are even frozen themed snacks you can buy and an adorable frozen shop at the one end of the building.
Wandering Oaken's Trading Post
Yoo Hoo! Big Summer Blowout Sale!! He he he...I had to do it. It may not be Summer but this was such a charming addition. Even the Cast Members dress in Oaken fashion. At Oaken's Trading Post you can find all things Frozen in merchandise. When you are inside take a close look at the decorations as well. You can spot all type of winter goods such as snowshoes, logs, axes, and rope but also some cute winter owls and fake snow.
The Animation Academy
The animation academy building is now the new home of Anna and Elsa. They have moved from Disneyland and have brought some fun with them.
Do you want to draw a snowman?
Well you can! If you go inside of the Animation Academy you can learn to draw Olaf and Marshmallow!
I was super excited to go because I had yet to experience this at California Adventure (I always end up going while there is a character I don't want to draw). I had so much fun and the instructor really makes it easy to follow along. I think my Olaf turned out pretty good! I wanted to stay for Marshmallow but I had too many things to get done so there was no time.
Meet Princess Anna and Queen Elsa
Queen Elsa and Princess Anna have made their way over to California Adventure and their new home is so lovely. Be warned though, in order to meet them, you have to get a Fastpass ticket outside of the Animation Building. If you do not get a Fastpass you will not be able to see them. I can't tell you how many people were standing in line with me that got so mad because they thought they could just slide right in and not get noticed. Just save yourself some heartache and get a ticket.
This was probably the highlight of my day so I recommend doing it. The other really neat thing that I discovered was the reel inside the building has changed. It now includes a clip of Let It Go and In Summer sung by Olaf.
Standing in line isn't so bad when you are surrounded by movie clips and music. When you enter the hall the first thing that you will see is a Grandfather Clock. Look familiar? If not you can just watch the hours tick by. You are then led to a very big door that leads to Elsa and Anna. Inside it is so pretty.
I must admit I was a little nervous meeting them because I haven't talked to a human character in a very long time. They were both so charming and fun to talk to! I had a lot of fun not only chatting with them but also watching little girls interact with them. We had a lovely conversation about how long my sled ride was to see them and how lovely it was to keep them together (in regards of my shirt). There is a photographer in the room who will take your picture and even if you have a pass I recommend not giving it to them. Now I know this sounds strange but you will be handed a PhotoPass with Olaf on the front! I think it is a great souvenir.
So I felt that it was only right to wear Frozen while experiencing all the Frozen Fun! I do not always buy my Disney themed clothes at Disneyland There are so many other places that sell Disney shirts and such at an affordable price. If you want a shirt similar to mine chock out this one on Amazon.

Disneyland
Just because California Adventure has a lot of Frozen going on, it doesn't mean that there is nothing left at Disneyland. Don't despair, there is still a good deal of things inside the main park.
Snow Queens Art of Ice
This I sort of stumbled upon entering the park. I noticed the banner outside and decided to pop in to see what it was all about. I am so glad I did too! Here you will find an exhibit of concept art for Frozen as well as some backstory to the original Ice Queen story.
I am such a sucker for a good art exhibit and I absolutely loved this one. It was full of character and was just really cool to see all the different styles that the movie could have gone in.
I particularly loved all the familiar character faces such as Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Sven, and of course Olaf!
I just love all the different expressions in both Anna and Elsa's faces here. It really shows off their personalities and is amazing to see how the animators came to creating these beloved Princesses.
I highly recommend taking ten to fifteen minutes and go see this hidden gem. It is located inside of the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln building.
Storybook Land Canal Ride
I must admit that the Storybook Land Canal ride is one of my favorite under-rated Disneyland rides. I just love looking at all the villages and the mini-plants/ succulents. Well now it is even more so one of my favorites because you can sail by Arendelle.
Not only is the Fjord there but Elsa's ice castle! You will be amazed at all the details that were put in.
I think it was the best addition that could have happened honestly. It really is so pretty and there is a familiar song in the background. So sit back, relax, and let it go.
Royals Theatre Play
The story of Frozen had been added to the playbill in Fantasy Faire. I was so excited when I first heard this. Both the Tangled and Beauty and the Beast plays are so fun but I knew that this would be awesome. I haven't actually had a chance to see the play due to my schedule (work and school) but I can't wait to see it. If you've seen it leave a comment below and let me know what you think!
Freeze The Night Away Dance Party
Go and dance the night...I mean...Freeze the night away with a dance party! I didn't get the chance to stay into the night but I did walk through this area. It looks so cute! Everything is blue and snow-flaked. The drink menu looks delicious with Frozen inspired beverages. I can't wait to go back and check this out as well.
Frozen Fun Commercial
So funny story. As soon as I came home from my Frozen Fun adventure I saw this commercial on television. It really made me crack up not only because of the commercial itself but because I had not seen it before my visit. I had felt that this limited time magic was very under publicized considering the popularity of the movie. I had found out through random Googling so it was funny to me that I see advertisements after the fact. Anyway, check it out! It is quite adorable.
