Future Opponents for Ronda Rousey After WrestleMania 34
"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey has made a big splash in WWE ever since showing up at the Royal Rumble event in January 2018. However, her biggest moment since came at WrestleMania 34 where she shocked the world and put on a classic and unforgettable match at the Show of Shows. The match was so good that many have even referred to it as the overall Match of the night in terms of the entertainment in which it offered. Ronda's in-ring work was crisp, unlike anything which fans would expect from someone who never had a wrestling match before and left fans in complete awe of what they just witnessed. Many fans were expecting probably a few mistakes from her but she overcame her doubters and definitely delivered with the extreme amount of time she spent training prior to the event. Now that Rousey has literally become (in my opinion), the biggest draw in the Women's division and even in the Men's division as well; many fans are dreaming of who they want to see Rousey square off with next. Therefore, let's get into my top picks on who Ronda Rousey should face in a WWE Ring in the near future.
Sasha Banks
Who better to put in the ring against a big star like Ronda Rousey than one of the best and most popular performers in the women's division, Sasha Banks. Banks is a four-time RAW Women's Champion and former NXT Women's Champion who has wrestled classic matches and even main-eventing pay-per-views with the likes of Bayley and Charlotte Flair. Her in-ring work along with her character and mic skills would be an excellent matchup for Ronda Rousey. Especially if she was to turn Heel. Sasha's heel work is quite underrated and has not been seen much by the WWE audience as she quickly became a babyface after debuting. But fans from her NXT days would remember how well she was as a heel especially in her great feud with Bayley at the time. What Ronda needs right now is to feud with someone who is good at getting heat from the fans and also an established performer., which is everything that Sasha Banks is capable of. Many fans may not like the idea as it would mean Sasha would probably take a loss against Rousey but imagine the attention and television time Sasha would get for going against a big star like Ronda. The feud would be great for Rousey but also equally as great for Banks who really has been lacking much of a direction on WWE programming recently.
Alexa Bliss
Former RAW And Smackdown Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss has been the face of the Women's division for quite a while on WWE programming. From her days on Smackdown LIVE as champion to her days on RAW as champion, she has been flourishing in her role as a top heel. Her incredible mic skills, charisma and ability to play her character have made one of the most talked about Superstars in the division over the past few years. Her feuds with the likes of Bayley, Sasha Banks and most notably Nia Jax have shown how great or "goddess like" she really is. Seriously her feud with Nia Jax was amazing as she made a not so liked character like Nia Jax into a mega babyface who is liked and appreciated by fans. Her stellar mic skills and character abilities made that feud special and made Nia into the star she is today. Now imagine her feuding with Ronda Rousey. She would be the perfect choice to keep Ronda hot among fans and take the inevitable beating from Rousey. The feud would elevate Alexa to another level as she would be able to show that she does not need a championship to be relevant on WWE programming.
Natalya
Natalya is an obvious choice as she recently returned to RAW and joined forces with Ronda Rousey. On top of that, the two have made it no secret that they are good friends and have actually trained with each other in the past. Natalya is a ring veteran and is always guaranteed to put on a stellar match with whoever her opponent is. Since losing the Smackdown LIVE Women's championship in 2017, she hasn't really done anything major since, which would make this feud be a great reward for her work over the years. Ronda is super over among WWE fans and Natalya working against her would immediately place lots of eyes on her. Given their friendship and the fact they trained together, I think the two would put on a magnificent match if given the chance. The heat which Natalya would be given from fans would establish her as one of the top women talents and may even open the eyes of management to give her another shot at winning gold. It may sound weird that taking a loss would be seen as an accomplishment for Natalya but the attention from this match alone would solidify her as one of the greats of the Women's division.
Charlotte Flair
Obviously, one of the most obvious choice to face Ronda Rousey would be Charlotte Flair. Flair is probably the biggest Women's Superstar of recent time as she is a former RAW, Smackdown Live, and NXT Women's Champion as well as a former Divas Champion. She is also a second-generation superstar being the daughter of arguably the Greatest of All Time, 16-time World Heavyweight Champion and 2-time WWE Hall of Famer, The Nature Boy, Ric Flair. With a legacy like that, Charlotte was obviously destined for greatness and she certainly has lived up to it thus far. She has been one of the best in-ring talents in the division for the past few years with the likes of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Asuka. Many fans have been clamoring for a feud between the MMA's four horsewomen (Shayna Baszler, Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke) and the WWE's four horsewomen (Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch). The two groups have teased a showdown recently at WWE's Mae Young Classic Tournament which Shayna Baszler competed in as the runner-up. Thus a feud between the two biggest stars of the group would be something quite major and even could be considered as a WrestleMania main-event. Charlotte's heel work on RAW has been stellar and her against a huge babyface like Rousey would raise the level of the Women's division and make some very interesting TV for fans.
Asuka
Many fans have been wondering how a match between Asuka and Ronda Rousey would go down. Asuka with her now former undefeated streak has been the focus of the Women's division on RAW and NXT for the past couple of years. Her incredible in-ring skills and charisma made her connect hugely with fans. She delivers her moves with such precision and ruthlessness that makes her come across as a legit fighter among fans which is why many fans have been clamoring for a match between them. Asuka is not as reliable as others on the microphone but her ring-work and mannerisms tell the story quite well. The dominant superstar of the women's division going against the most popular babyface of the division has money written all over it. Even though it would probably be better if she still was undefeated with her streak it still would have a great impact among fans. The two could put on a classic match and tell an incredible story if given the chance.
Conclusion
Well, that's all for now. My overall pick on who Ronda should feud with next is Sasha Banks as a heel as Sasha would carry Ronda to a great match and would be a great established star for Ronda to defeat in her singles match debut.
