How to Watch Live English Premier League Football in Europe via Satellite or Live Streaming Internet
How to watch English Premier League Football matches
Yes it is possible to watch all English Premier League Football matches live in Europe, but you will need to have the right equipment to watch it via satellite or live streaming internet, and be prepared to watch matches with commentary that is not in English
I was asked this question, and not being a football fan myself I did not know the answer, but I have found out and am happy to share this information with you.
This article should be read in conjunction with my other TV article, A Guide to watching International Television in Continental Europe.
Arab Channels and Internet Football
There are Arab channels that transmit all the football games. Go to Live Football on TV - Sport on Television and they list what games are on and when.
You will see on this link that a lot of the big games are also available through live streaming video on the internet, but for this you will need to have a very fast connection.
There is a site that shows a lot of Premier League Football and is completely free, but you cannot watch it from the host country in which the match is being played. You will be required to sign up to the site but there does not seem to be any charge or limit on what you can watch. I am not allowed to link that site from here, but I suggest you do a search for bet365.com then from their front page, click on streaming live sport.
For the actual Arab channels that transmit the football games, I suggest you put Arab TV Sports into google and have a look around.
Motorised Satellite Dish
You will need a motorised satellite dish, though it doesn't have to be big dish. Probably a 90cm dish will suffice.
It will need to be the motorised type, as the different Arab Channels showing all the games beam from different satellites, so your equipment must be able to latch on to those signals.
These are not cheap and I have been assured that you can expect to pay somewhere in the region of €2000 for this system.
Once it is set up, you will need internet access to check their listings, and to find out what channel is transmitting what game.
Further reading on the installation of motorised satellite dishes is available here.
Sky and Setanta
If there is more to know about this system, I will find out and add it here, but hopefuly the information I have put in here will suffice.
Of course, if you have a Sky subscription that includes Sky Sports, you will have access to all the Premier League Games that they have the right to show.
Setanta is also a big player, and it may well be worth your time taking out a subscription with them.
Of course, it all depends on whether you are planning to, or are, living in Europe what package you decide you may want.
Many European resorts have at least one English Bar that will have a Sky subscription to show all the games, and several bars have gone that extra mile especially for football fans by installing Arab satellite television so that no games are missed.
If, however, you rent an apartment for part of the year that is nowhere near an English Bar, you may want to consider buying an extra SkyBox and taking your card with you on holiday for use abroad.
Please refer back to my other article on television, you may want to consider the size of dish you will need.
The huge dishes are only needed for BBC and ITV; you may well find that a small dish is fine for SkySports on a subscription, but remember and do not tell Sky that you are planning to use your card abroad, as they may well cut the signal to your card.
I hope this has answered all questions anyone may have regarding the ability ot watch Premier League Football in Europe.
