Morocan Living Room with Indoor Swimming Pool
Moroccan Living Room = Evergreen Interior Design Option
This Moroccan inspired living room delights in gracefully pulling together an earthy, comfortable style with accents straight from the exotic far away continent of Africa. The design element flow effortless here from the Moroccan inspired lamps, to the the elegant woodwork to the color palette of subtle tans and browns - reminiscent of the sands of the arid lands of Africa.
This eclectic style is typical reserved exclusively for expressive souls. This room, however, is so well put together, I see it offering broad appeal for celebrating it's timeless style. No one will ever look at this living room and be able to date it - it truly is timeless design masterpiece.
I believe designers need to take a cue from the originators of Hubpages and always seek a design that is both appealing but also "evergreen". Timeless is a word overused in the design world, I love the term "evergreen" because this term accurately portrays both the quality of "timeless" and freshness.
After a great swim, I want to curl up with a great book or electronic tablet and sit next to the fern with the sun light streaming in over my shoulder.
Subterranean Mansion - James Bond Style Swimming Pool
The James Bond Living Room Swimming Pool
So you ask what would James Bond do with a swimming pool in his living room? But of course, he would have a water slide right from the master bedroom into the swimming pool/living room. And yes, amazingly, this home does exist.
This subterranean masterpiece celebrates both the love of swimming and of inventive design. Who would have thought of this but a James Bond junkie or his "technically-minded “Q” – James Bond’s gadget obsessed quartermaster".
(Side Note: Reminder Q? Originally a grey haired man and recently a young geek with glasses? Funny the old "Q", the original elderly man didn't even wear glasses. So young people in glasses are now simply categorized as gadget geeks?)
This architectural genius comes with a price tag reported at a cool $3 million
Trophy room - Rustic Living Room with an Indoor Swimming Pool
Trophy Room Plus Living Room Plus Swimming Pool in a Penthouse in Manhattan
This one is amazing in and of itself. Just look at thetrophies displayed. Look at the earth tones that turn the retreat into a hunter's haven. Now we gracefully add in a swimming pool. All this and a unique and unexpected location - a town home.
The owner's family includes three turtles and a 5 pound Yorkshire puppy. A wonderful abode designed to celbrate the world of hunting and marine life - all in the comforts of a town home.
Would the be possible to replicate today? Most likely not for a number of reasons - from mechanical to design to town home associationrules. This particular enclave is grandfathered in.
PS did you also notice the swing above the swimming pool? This owner has crafted fun above the beautiful pool waters.
Indoor Swimming Pool with Round Hot Tub
Indoor Swimming Pools - Modern Designs
Modern Living Room Marries Light with Water with the Indoor Swimming Pool
Sometimes modern designs lack naturallight, quality windows or design details and ends up conveying more of a commercial space rather than a comfortable room.
The stone walls in the first photo are highlighted by light from the roof casting shadows to accentuate the natural textured walls.
The second living room interestingly has no skylight and yet the windows are so large and the room is scaled to take advantage of the one large window that you don't even notice a skylight is missing. This is the magic of a great architect.
Both of these modern living rooms have crafted living spaces that masterfully play off the natural light in tandem with the indoor blue waters of the indoor swimming pool.
Blue Living Room of a Movie Mogul - Courtyard of an Indoor Swimming Pool with Corrugated Steel Walls and Theatrical Lighting
Blue Room of a Movie Mogul or a Movie Director
This room takes simple corrugated metal and shines blue light to add drama and romance to an indoor space separated by gold away floor to ceiling glass doors. The use of texture is inventive, the color washing is reminiscent of the theater, I envision the owner to be a movie mogul who has connections with set design.
This swimming pool also appears to be protected from winds and from prying eyes. The courtyard swimming pool meets advanced thespian stage design.
Whether this is the home of a famous movie star, or movie director or stage and set designer or simply a movie mogul, the space is theatrical and celebrates the love of both the play of light and the love of the indoor swimming pool.
Can't you just hear the the Movie Director shouting out the words "Action!"?
Modern Interior Design - Vanity Lights Galore
Celebrating Vanity Lights in the Living Room / Indoor Swimming Pool
If the above swimming pool celebrate stage lights, the next swimming pool celebrates vanity lights. This beautiful space glows.
The vanity lights illuminate the structural wood accents. It is the wooden elements that offer a warmth to this living room.
The modern bar stools showcase this a place to stay for hours simply gazing in the glow of the waters and the dozens of vanity lights.
Add in extreme ceiling heights and windows that showcase the beauty of Mother Nature in all her simplicity - providing natural light compounded by the beautiful waters of the indoor swimming pool.
Indoor Hot Tub with Walls of Windows and Floor to Ceiling Stone Fireplace
Hot Tub Sanctuary
No room for an indoor swimming pool? Still want to celebrate the love of the water? This indoor space centers around a hot tub complete with a floor to ceiling fireplace.
This indoor space is designed to need a smaller footprint and yet it still provides all the same play of natural light married gracefully to the reflecting power of the water.
No detail in this design was forgotten, look closely and you will see the indoor railing is clear and seamlessly guards the exterior door without any intrusion into the interior design of the space.
