Interview with Tony Hall - SFC's Very First Champion
Ground and Pound 1 is officially in the books and your new MiddleWeight champion of the SFC is Tony Hall. NO ONE expected him to pull it off, yet he used that patented armbar submission to put his name in the history books for good!
Sporting a 5-0 record and the MiddleWeight title, I keep my arms as far away from Hall as I can, as I get an exclusive interview with the submission specialist.
Q1: First things first, how does it feel to be the first champion of the SFC?
"Feels amazing, man. I didn't know what to expect coming into the tournament. I had the ground game background and looks like everyone was strikers so I waited for my opportunity and attacked. I took them to the ground and did my thing once I had them on the ground it was over, so I played possum and pretended I was hurt and and made them go to the ground thinking they were going finish me. I look forward to all contenders looking to take my belt I plan and will keep this belt for a very long time."
Q2: You made your impact via submission holds. What makes your armbar so effective and inescapable for your opponents?
"I come from a training background overseas were it's brutal and takes years to master. When I'm on the ground, people don't understand how strong I am. People call me the next Khabib, once I grab you it's like a bear grabbing you and there nothing you can do but tap out."
Q3: Who was your favorite opponent you faced in the tournament?
"It has to be Primetime Money. After watching him, I knew he was the best striker there, so it made sense we would end up in the finals. Even when I got to the ground with him, I didn't instantly finish him, he's probably the best at defending my subs. I have mad respect for him and I'm sure we will fight again."
Q4: There are many fighters moving up to the Heavyweight division. What does that mean to you? Are they afraid?
"Of course they're afraid. When there heard they could move to another division, they jumped on it and I don't blame them. Would you want your arm broken?"
Q5: Do you see a jump to that division in your future?
"Right now no. Maybe a champion vs champion fight but right now I want to clean out the division, then possibly think about moving up."
Q6: You've been a terrific interview, Mr. Hall, I'll let you go with one last question, is there anyone you deem worthy of a title match against you? Whether it's someone you fought already or didn't have the opportunity to?
"Well I know I can beat everyone, but there's two guys who can't keep there mouth shut and that's [Thomas] Noble and [Jon] Fowler, so I would want them to be my first two fights so I can shut them up and make them go all the way down in the power rankings where they belong."
Thank you so much for your time, champ. Best of luck in the future
"Thank you for interviewing me."
Between the two names Hall mentioned, who should get the first title shot?
