Light a Fire Without Matches

Can you survive if you are in a remote place without matches or the weather is wet. How do you light a fire for cooking or keep warm without matches? For that, if you are traveling to a place far from the crowd, such as into a forest or climbing a mountain, it would be best if you prepare yourself with a few pieces of wood that can be used to light a fire.

There are several types of wood trees that contain oil so they can be used to light fires, including jatropha, tin, and olive.

There are also other trees that can be used to light fires but have less oil content such as pine trees and so on. To light a fire with pine trees or other types of trees is more difficult than the three wooden trees mentioned earlier.

If you already have wood, namely jatropha, tin and olive wood. Then how do you light the fire? This is how a log is rubbed back and forth on the surface of another wood until the fire ignites.

What about other types of wood like pine trees? For other types of wood, it is rotated like a drill using a bow.
