NBA 7th and 8th Seed Predictions
Welcome to our first article back from our longer than expected hiatus!!!!!! First off we apologize for such a long hiatus but we are back now and better than ever. We can go on and on bringing up every excuse in the book like branding and so on but if you are reading you probably are not here for that. Just know from now on our new home will be on HubPages!!!!! We are excited for this new opportunity and will be committed to put out consistent articles for everyone to enjoy. Now let's get to the real reason why you are here. You are here to see our opinion on who will grab the last two remaining seeds in the East and West in the NBA. So enough of the intro lets get right into the picks!!!!!!
Eastern Conference Standings
Western Conference Standings
Listed above is the current standings for the 22 bubble teams playing in Orlando. As you can see seeds 1-6 have been claimed, but not set so teams can move around in the standings. Seeds 7 and 8 have not been claimed so those are up for grabs. In the East the Nets, Magic, and Wizards will be fighting for the last two East seeds. In the West it will be the Mavericks, Grizzlies, Trailblazers, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs, and Suns competing for the last two West seeds. Whichever teams are four games or less away from the 8th seed they will be a mini playoffs to see who claims it. We will start off with the East and then the West.
East 7th Seed
We have at the 7th seed in the East the Orlando Magic. We have them here for one big reason....HEALTH. The Nets are currently in 7th but will not have guards Spencer Dinwiddie and Kyrie Irving as well as forward Kevin Durant and center DeAndre Jordan. The Magic can easily steal that 7th seed away from the Nets and are the better team even without rising forward Jonathan Issac who is expected to be back soon. With big men Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic ready to lead the Magic expect them to make the playoffs but end up being knocked out in the first round.
East 8th Seed
With the East 8th seed we have the Brooklyn Nets who have lost their two superstar players in KD and Kyrie and even losing key players like Spencer Dinwiddie and DeAndre Jordan. We have them losing the 7th seed to the Magic but staying in the playoff race against the Wizards due to them still being the better team due to the Wizards losing John Wall and Bradley Beal. Even in a playoff situation we have them beating the Wizards.
West 7th Seed
We have at the West 7th seed the Dallas Mavericks led by Euro Duo Kristaps Porzingis and rising star Luka Doncic. They have a commanding lead over the 8th seed so this one is a no brainer. Plus out of the remaining teams fighting for a playoff spot they are the best one. They have a commanding seven game lead over the current 8th seed Memphis Grizzlies and don't expect them to lose it. We see them having a competitive first round in the actual playoffs but end up losing in six games. We even see them possibly moving up in the standings if they play their cards right. This is just the beginning for the Euro Duo.
West 8th Seed
For the West 8th seed we have the Portland Trailblazers led by one of the best point guards in the league who also raps in Dame Dolla aka Damian Lillard and his sharpshooting pal CJ McCollum. They are are about 3.5 games behind the 8th seeded Grizzlies who just lost Justise Winslow to injury and face a tough schedule. The Blazers will be getting back Just Nurkic to pair alongside Hassan Whiteside so expect an improvement in defense and rebounding which the Blazers had trouble in. They have been in this position before having to fight their way in and throughout the playoffs so you know this team knows what it takes after making the Western Conference Finals last year but this is a completely difference West so we will see how they do. We see them losing in the first round in a competitive six game series.
In conclusion, this is going to be interesting. Hearing what other people think about the possibility of one team making it, and another not is the driving force behind us making these articles. So strap in! Get ready to see what the rest of this season has in store for us.
