National Pro Fastpitch

Updated on May 6, 2011

Arizona Heat

In 2004, the National Pro Fastpitch had its inaugural season with six teams: the Akron Racers, the Arizona Heat, the California Sunbirds, the New England Riptide, the New York/New Jersey Juggernaut, and the Texas Thunder. The Arizona Heat's home is Hi Corbett Field in Tucson. It is the same field that the Colorado Rockies use for spring training.

Beginning in 2005, some of the teams in National Pro Fastpitch will have players from the USA Olympic Team. One of the Olympic pitchers, Jennie Finch, signed with the Chicago Bandits, a new team for the 2005 season.

Going to an Arizona Heat game is a great way to enjoy some fresh air on a warm summer night while watching the beginnings of a league that may eventually become a national pastime like Major League Baseball.
