Yes, Nitya. I made some real efforts to collect the information even though I watched some of the events and noted them. Not only this, I have one more part of it to come up in a few days.

Glad to know, Chitra, that you enjoyed the charts and details. I like to collect charts and figures for my record, even though they get lost after 2 or 3 years. So, keeping them online can be one good option for me.

Thanks for your nice comment. My blessings.

You have summarized the winners so well. I don't know if it is posted as such anywhere else online. This will be a great reference for those who want to know the results. I only wish I could have watched more of the games when they were shown.

A very detailed and well researched hub about Rio Olympics!

I enjoy watching Gymnastics and swimming sessions. And of course the ones where Indians participate.

I enjoyed going through your charts --very well written and informative hub!

      Thanks for sharing!

Nice to see you, Flourish. Your comment is of much value and importance to me. It is true that Boxing and Wrestling events are not welcome. But, people get entertained watching those injuries inflicted by one person on the other and cheer for the winner. How, for God's sake, I don't know. Alas! The poor victim of blows and injuries!

Very comprehensive summary of the results that benefits those who enjoyed watching as well as those who didn't watch any (like myself). It's interesting how some of the sports categories fall in and out of favor (e.g., synchronized swimming, trampoline gymnastics, race walking). I don't understand how we can continue to permit boxing knowing what it does to fighters. I cannot bear to watch. I just think of Muhammad Ali. Nevertheless, you did an admirable job pulling all of this information together. Bravo.

Very, very nice, I like it and it was good to see Simone Giles routine in the video. Breathtaking! Why don't you add a video of the opening ceremony? Also include Bolt's time in the 200 metres. I didn't see it.

This is a great trip in looking at one of the world's most prestigious sport. I admire you for this. Well done!

Such an interesting article about the Rio Olympics. I had no idea that football competition started early and was played at different cities throughout Brazil. I love gymnastics, swimming, and running/field events. Those are the ones I watch with great interest. Thanks for breaking it down in charts. So very helpful to remember. I enjoyed reading this.

Ruby, I am very happy to see you visit my hub. Yes, Bolt is a lightning striking everywhere. He obtained 3 gold medals in this year. A great athlete. There are many who performed amazingly. It has been a great event. Thanks for the nice comment.

It's true, Carb Diva. I always wonder how do they perform such feats! It is just like they have some sponge in place of bones in their body which enables them bend and twist it as they wish. Thanks for reminding the 1960s, when as a child, I used to watch the circus shows where they performed some gymnastics.

Your detailed summary is great. I watched some of the Olympics. I must say that Bolt has the correct name, he's like a bolt of lightening. I was proud of all who gave it all they had...

A very comprehensive summary. You have put a great deal of work into this. I did not spend a great deal of time watching, but did enjoy some of the gymnastics routines. If you look at the performances in 2016 to those of the 1960's you will be amazed at the contrast. Truly amazing what the human body can do.
