SFC 1 Predictions

Updated on February 10, 2020

With the Middleweight and Heavyweight tournaments (Ground and Pound 1 and Heavy Hitters 1, respectively) behind us, now is time for the "real" beginning of the SFC.

These are just my own predictions, so nobody should take anything personally here. I'm just calling them like I see them.

We have four matches from each division to go through, so let's get started!

Middleweight Opener: #7 Dax Lewis vs #8 Akira Cesaro

We start off SFC 1 with #7 Dax "The Executioner" Lewis and #8 Akira "The Buzzsaw" Cesaro. This opening fight is more of a chance for these men to prove they belong higher up the card, and could have negative consequences for the loser, such as tumbling into the double digit rankings.

Cesaro came surprisingly close to defeating #6 William Thompson in the Ground and Pound 1 event, but he was just unable to finish the job. I think the support of newly formed Team LCA will motivate the Buzzsaw enough to handle this fight.

Prediction: Akira Cesaro, late Round 2 KO

#5 Elysia Gallows v #6 William Thompson

Elysia Gallows and William Thompson square off next, as these two both have major SFC potential.

Gallows looked impressive in the Ground and Pound 1 tournament, but Thompson seems to be on a slightly higher level, technically.

I'm going with William Thompson in a fight that lasts into a decision.

Prediction: William Thompson, Decision

#2 Salvatore Cash-Money v #4 Thomas Noble

In a potential top contender's match, knockout artist Salvatore Cash-Money will take on Thomas "Bonecrusher" Noble in what should be the straight up toughest fight of the night.

In my opinion, it won't necessarily be a "tough" fight competitive wise, but more so in the "hard hitting" perspective.

I think Prime Time will put Noble away relatively quickly and represent Team LCA up in the ranks.

Prediction: Salvatore Cash-Money, mid Round 1 KO

Middleweight Main Event: Middleweight Championship #1 Tony Hall(C) v #3 Roberto Pererya

In the Middleweight main event, the Middleweight title will be on the line as submission specialist Tony Hall defends against the 3rd ranked Roberto Pererya.

I'm excited for this match, as I think Pererya is one of the few fighters who can stand toe to toe with the champion.

Despite my thoughts on Pererya, I can't quite see him coming away victorious, as Hall get ahold of Pererya's arm and force another submission.

Prediction: Tony Hall, mid Round 2 submission

Heavyweight Opener: #7 Wally Herman v #8 Sean Brocklin

Now moving on to the Heavyweight side of things, Wally Herman takes on Sean Brocklin for the opportunity to move up.

Both men won their opening fights in Heavy Hitters 1 before being eliminated by Brett Bartels and DeJuan Jennings, respectively. I see this fight as a surprisingly quick Brocklin retribution match.

Prediction: Sean Brocklin, mid Round 1 KO

#5 Signore Chappell v #6 Syntax Error

In my opinion, this will be one of the best fights of the night. Neither man has a clear advantage over the other, and both have tremendous potential in the octagon.

I'm a big fan of both fighters, so it does make it hard to pick a winner.

I am going to go with Signore Chappell in this one, as he only lost to 2nd ranked Rob Master via decision.

Prediction: Signore Chapell, early Round 3 KO

#2 Rob Masters v #4 DeJuan Jennings

There is a lot on the line in this 2 vs 4 ranked matchup between Rob Masters and DeJuan Jennings.

No offense to "The Nightmare" but I personally don't think Masters loses this fight. I know I'm just a writer, but hopefully Jennings sees this article and it motivates him even more.

Unfortunately, I think Masters is just on another league from a mental/fighting standpoint.

Prediction: Rob Masters, late Round 1 KO

Heavyweight Main Event: Heavyweight Championship #1 Peyton Cash(C) v #3 Brett Bartels

In the Heavyweight main event, Brett Bartels challenges the diverse champion, Peyton Cash.

Yet another intriguing matchup, Cash beat Bartels by submission on his way to becoming champ, so you know the #3 ranked Bartels is chomping at the bit for a rematch.

Bartels has looked very impressive thus far in the SFC. Unfortunately (like the Middleweight main event), I can't see Bartels pulling the title off of Cash. Cash is simply too good.

Prediction: Peyton Cash, late Round 2 submission

This is the Simulation Fighting Championship, based off of the UFC 3 video game. In this league, you create a fighter, make their own Twitter account (optional, but recommended) and upgrade their ratings as you progress before your very eyes! If this sounds like something that interests you, feel free to check out our discord (ZERO money required) and our official Twitter page. Also, check out SFC on our Twitch channel!

Thanks for reading, and we hope you join us in the octagon very soon!
